Not what we expected.

I took awhile to write this so as not to be too upset. I rented this for my wife's 60th birthday and stated specifically she loves sunsets. Well, none from the house. You have to walk down to a tiny beach to see it, and don't dare step 10 feet to the south as that area is private and you will get reprimanded. Same if you walk further down the road. Had to walk a narrow path to an extremely small beach and we got ticks. Also, security camera everywhere. Even on the road in. We felt like someone was watching the whole time. The house was nice and well stocked, I just felt misled by the photos.show moreshow less

Owner Response 1/13/2025 We communicate closely with all guests and were surprised to receive this review 19 months after the completion of their stay. In all email and phone correspondence with this guest, there were no issues communicated.
Birthdays are special! We added a card and gift certificate to our favorite bakery to our Welcome Basket. Due to the orientation of our property, summer sunsets can only be viewed from our shoreline or the docks. We never claim otherwise.
We respect the privacy of our guests. Security cameras are visibly unplugged during the rental season consistent with our written communications. We think that this guest reacted to cameras at another property that was undergoing extensive remodeling.
Regrettably, it appears that this guest was confused on distinguishing private from common property. This has not been an issue with others but we'll review our guidelines.
We have used the same photos for the past five years.
More than 30 other families have had a wonderful time at this unique property that has so much to offer!
We are readily available to answer questions and provide information to ensure that our guests have a relaxing and rewarding vacation!
