About Nantucket Preservation Symposium...The Nantucket Preservation Trust will be holding a preservation symposium workshop entitled Decisions in Preservation: Understanding, Repairing and Preserving Nantucket Houses on June 7, 2018. It will be a one-day session that focuses on the difficult decisions property owners, architects, and builders face in restoring houses, and how they balance preserving features and making a home livable in the 21st century.
While the workshop will focus on Nantucket’s architecture, lessons learned from Decisions in Preservation will be useful to anyone who works with or owns a historic home. This workshop will appeal to architectural historians, local history buffs, or just those want to know more about Nantucket’s more than 800 pre-Civil War era buildings.
Tickets are $350 per attendee and include a welcome reception on Wednesday, June 6th and all programs including lunch on Thursday, June 7th. In the summertime, Nantucket is an easily accessible day trip from Boston by air, and from New Bedford and Cape Cod by high speed ferry. More information and registration can be found on at www.nantucketpreservationsymposium.org or by calling 508.228.1387.
