Description

Description

Situated on the west coast of Falmouth, this open, spacious contemporary enjoys gorgeous sunset and ocean views. Cool ocean breezes keep it comfortable all summer. The area of Sippewissett is exclusive and provides a sense of serenity and privacy.

A circular drive holding four or more cars leads to the home. Enter through double doors to a multi-level solarium that runs the length of the house. The first level has two large twin-bedded rooms (one converts to a king bed) sharing a marble bath. One bedroom accesses the sunroom, the other a brick patio. The master suite has a queen bed, sitting area with fireplace, marble bath with double jacuzzi, and French doors leading to a serpentine raised brick patio, gardens and ocean views.

A grand oak central staircase leads to the second level. This large, light-filled open space with a soaring cathedral ceiling, stunning furnishings and original art, features a living area with corner fireplace, a large dining area and a fully-appointed gourmet kitchen.Three sets of French doors lead to a 40 foot deck with great views of the point, ocean and sunsets. Here there are chaises, Adirondack chairs, dining furniture and a gas grill. Completing the second level are a beautiful full bath and spacious den with sectional couch, desk, high speed wireless internet access, cable TV, VCR, DVD, dozens of games, books and puzzles. A queen mattress is provided for additional sleeping.

Our private, warm-water beach is a few steps from the house. An enclosed outside shower is available, as is a charming shed to store bicycles. The gardens and patio and decks around the house contain wonderful places to relax, read, and restore. Overall there is a romantic quality to the property with its draped wisteria, beach roses and grand blue hydrangeas. Everything is included for an extraordinary experience in a special part of the world. In addition to our beautiful beach, Falmouth offers 68 miles of spectacular coastline with many quaint harbors for great boating and fishing.

The area also boasts some of the best golf courses on the Cape. Falmouth village is quintessential Cape Cod with a charm and appeal all its own, with wide brick sidewalks, stunning flowers, gas streetlamps, wonderful outdoor cafes, unique shops and art galleries as well as a family entertainment center. Several movie complexes are nearby, as well as a local theatre group. The Shining Sea Bike Path, one of Falmouth's great treasures, runs 3.5 miles into Woods Hole, where the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and ferries to Martha's Vineyard are located.

Arrange for a whale watching expedition, a fishing expedition, visit the National Seashore Park, take in the uniqueness of Provincetown, or spend the day exploring the charm of The King's Highway (Route 6A), one of the country's oldest and most beautiful winding roads lined with cranberry bogs, old country inns, wonderful antique shops, art galleries and charming cafes and restaurants.

Lovely house, functional and well decorated

Our family of 4, including 2 young adults, had a lovely stay at the house for Easter. The house is well located and everything was as described.

We particularly appreciated the open house plan, the brightness, and the paintings. Without meeting Myra (precautions due to the coronavirus), she was very responsive (to all of my questions before the trip) and really welcoming. I strongly recommend.

    Great time at Sippewissett!

This home was truly a delight in every way and Myra is a very responsive and accommodating host. The house is warm and inviting, spacious, well equipped, and on a lovely quiet road with gorgeous sunset views!! The kitchen has a large island and dining area as well as opening into a living room area. We quite enjoyed cooking, doing puzzles, and just relaxing all in the same room. We also enjoyed having the separate TV room to relax with a movie in the evening. The outside is just as exceptional as the inside. Beautiful landscaping and multiple areas to gather as a group or to relax alone with a good book. Walking across the street to the private beach for sunset was a ritual. Highly recommend! show more show less

We spent time at this amazing home just around memorial day of 2011. The house was beautiful, immaculately maintained and extremely comfortable. We made the short walk to the beach a number of times and used the convenient access to town to also sample much of what Falmouth had to offer. All in all a great experience and I would highly recommend this property."

My family and I spend our Easter holiday weekend at this amazing home! This was definitely a "Home" to the fullest definition of the word. We felt at home from the moment we walked in and meet the owners to the last second when we drove away looking in our rearview mirror. It was so spacious yet very warm and had every amenity that one would look for in a rental property. The views are spectacular and the furnishings from sitting areas to the sheets were impeccable. We had young children and grandparents and everyone was satisfied! The house had such wonderful light from all the large windows that even on a rainy dreary day it felt bright and sunny! The kids were especially thrilled that the Easter Bunny was able to find us and even hid all their eggs!!! We will definitely rent this home again and absolutely keep in touch with the owners who have such a positive energy that you feel like you are renting from relatives and not strangers. A+++. *Stephanie M." show more show less

Guest review from Chris Barnowski on 7/26/2010 for a stay in June 2010. "This place is great! Tons of room, excellent views, and a quick strike to either Wood's Hole or Falmouth. It was the perfect setting for "wedding headquarters" as we hosted my family the week of the big day. Myra and Richard are a delight to deal with and I can say without hyperbole that we felt more like house guests than renters. Would definitely recommend to a friend or return for another getaway." ***** (five stars) show more show less

We loved your house, W. Falmouth and the whole Cape. Your house was perfect for our group of three couples. Location is superb - right on Buzzard's Bay. One of the things we enjoyed most about your house was your paintings - excellent! We stayed in one night, but tried the restaurants recommended in your book and thoroughly enjoyed all of them, but especially Dana's Kitchen - had them cater a dinner at your place. We visited Provincetown, Chatham, Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard, and Newport, RI. We would definitely plan a revisit to Sippewissett - assuming, of course, that we could get your place again. show more show less

We have been sharing our special ''dream'' vacation house for the last 27 years and love the idea that families and friends have created extraordinary memories while vacationing there. I am an artist and our contemporary house with its light filled lofty rooms are the perfect place for my large oil paintings. We have also created beautiful gardens over the years we have had our house and everyone who stays at the house enjoys the terraces, decks and gardens. Vacations have always been sacred times for our family and friends to share a special place and wonderful adventures. With that in mind, we offer a unique and beautiful setting for our guests to savor their vacations.

What is special about this property?
We have a wonderful, open, light-filled house overlooking Buzzards Bay on the west coast of Falmouth, where the sunsets are extraordinary. We live in a very quiet and tranquil area and our private beach, a two minute walk from our house, makes it very special. The public spaces in the house are perfect for gathering and being together - large, airy, light filled spaces - and the private spaces - bedrooms and bathrooms - are comfortable and inviting. Our outdoor shower is a perfect place to end a day at the beach. We provide everything one could want and need for an easy, carefree vacation.
