Fourth time was the charm! – We have rented on the Cape in various locations for the past three summers but continued to search for a place that was perfect for our family, and we found it this summer at this home in Popponessett. We have three young grandchildren who came to visit, and the house was ideal. It was a short walk to a kid-friendly beach with soft white sand and little variation in tides so there was no moving once settled. Water was warm with small waves that kept rolling in, making it perfect. Beach buggy was included so we packed up and headed to beach early leaving our chairs and such in place while the kids came back for naptime (best part of the day!). Beach chairs and towels were included, which was fabulous affording more room in the car heading down.

The house had three extra large bedrooms upstairs with a master bedroom downstairs affording so much space to add a crib. Linens being included was a bonus. We picked a very hot week and having central air was a nice treat, as we don’t have it in our own home making naptime and nighttime so comfortable on those rare nights when there was no sea breeze coming in. Large deck and beautifully maintained grounds made playing/sitting outside enjoyable for all. House itself was roomy, comfortably decorated and every convenience available- fully stocked kitchen, so much room to accommodate us without feeling crowded - washer/dryer, gas fireplace (didn’t need it, however!)- large table for family dinners. When not wanting to cook, the Marketplace area was great with concerts on most weekends where the kids could be active while adults could sit and eat an extra large lobster roll. We had such a wonderful experience that we’re already hoping to return next summer – our search has ended with the perfect location found!

I would highly recommend this vacation rental to families with young children! The home itself is immaculate and spacious. It was very conducive to meeting the needs of our two families as well as including privacy in the home for grandparents. Each morning our children would walk across the street to join in the organized baseball pick up league that takes place all summer long. Afterwards we would head to the playground to swing before taking the 5 minute walk to the ocean to cool off.

The beach was private and clean beautiful for collecting seashells, swimming, catching crabs, or watching the sunsets! The marketplace was one of our children's favorites for dancing to live music while enjoying a meal or an ice cream cone. We were so happy with our vacation and cannot wait to make new memories next summer! show more show less

Great decor and very home like feeling. The house was immaculate and very well kept. The rooms spacious with lots breathing of space. Great location close to playground and a short walk to beach. House had beach chairs and even a cart to take stuff to beach. Also had towels for the beach for use. It was great for our family - grandparents thru grandchild and in-between. Was great to have washer and dryer in the house. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pans etc. The owner also left recommendations for near by restaurants that were very helpful to have.

Loved to have a relaxing meal on the back deck with automatic cover for sun shading. My husband loved the Shining Sea biking trails thru nearby Falmouth. The Popponessett Market was a good walk-to destination and the nearby Mashpee Commons and surrounding area has every type of shopping and restaurant you could ever want.
