Can't imagine a more welcoming or tranquil spot on the Cape. Perched on a sand dune with its own direct access to a private beach on Cape Cod Bay, this beach house has it all. The owners, Maureen and Dave, have taken special care to ensure that nothing is wanting for a perfect holiday. The house is wonderfully stocked and furnished. There's a panoramic view of the water from the kitchen and living room, and an expansive wrap-around deck. Bit O' Heav'n offers an unfettered view of beautiful sunsets and stars. Inside and out, the view is spectacular. We can't wait to return!

Randomly saw a video of Bit o Heaven on You Tube which prompted this review. Unfortunately, things didn't work out to return here this year (2021). Awesome location and probably the best place to appreciate the Cape.

Great for paddle boarding! Went all the way around the island (2020) and the experience was motivating and just put me in awe of the Lt. Island estuary and other locations. Warning: this place will snuggle into your heart and soul and you will long to return.

We are anxiously awaiting our August arrival at Bit O Heav'n. This will be our 7th year vacationing at this heavenly spot in Lieutenant's Island. It is a truly magical spot. From the moment you arrive and walk up the sand dune to this beautiful home, swimming in the water, walking on the beach, exploring the tidal pools, looking at the marsh land to relaxing on the deck, watching the sunset and star gazing. It is absolutely beautiful . Our daughter was 3 when we started renting this beautiful cottage and it doesn't get old. We don't even want to go out to dinner because we can't bare missing the sunset. The house is clean and has everything you need for a beautiful vacation, including an outdoor shower, a well equipped kitchen and a beautiful deck. Our second year here, and we can't think of a better place to spend our summer vacation. Dave and Maureen's property on Lieutenant's Island is a peaceful retreat where you are close to nature and the beauty of Wellfleet Harbor. We love to relax and enjoy the ocean from the private deck. One of our favorite memories is having drinks in the late afternoon as the sun descended while watching close up an adorable squirrel eat pine cones. We love the private stairway that makes it easy to get to the beach where you can spend long hours in the water when the tide is in (last year we brought an inflatable kayak) or, if the tide is out, just wandering across the private beach gathering shells and looking for marine life.

We find the cottage very comfortable and pleasant with its large windows with water views on three sides. At night, we often leave the windows open in order to enjoy the sea air. The kitchen is well-equipped and we frequently use the outdoor gas grill for barbecuing. We shop nearby off island where you can get all your supplies. We found a variety of restaurants and nearby entertainment venues when we choose to venture to the main land. Our favorite entertainment is the Wellfleet Drive In, which is one of the last outdoor movie theaters we know about. We have also found other towns outside of the local area accessible if we wanted to take a trip. For example, we visited P-town which is approximately 30 minutes with no traffic.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our two stays here. The highlight is always the beauty and serene nature of Lieutenant's Island which offers us a chance to relax and unwind away from daily stressors.

We come back year after year for a much anticipated two week stay in July! This will be our sixth season. This spot is like no other, the approach is unbelievable with salt marshes and wildlife! Watch out for turtles in the dirt road!!! You will think you’ve gone back in time with the peace and serenity that greets you. The cottage is hidden by a dune and sits right on Cape Cod Bay!!! The back deck is all you need for a relaxing day of sun bathing and privacy on the water with gorgeous sunsets! You can swim, fish, kayak or do nothing at all. At high tide the waves come up over the last few steps to the cottage and low tide is amazing to see all the clams, crabs, and oysters!!

You will love the way being here makes you feel, and your saddest day is the day you leave! Cottage is beautiful, open, and bright! Everywhere you see is ocean!!!!! We cannot imagine a summer without bit o heav’n! Maureen and Dave are the nicest people you will ever meet; and you won’t spend another summer again without a bit o heav’n!!!!!!! show more show less

This place has great views from all the windows in the living area which only enhanced the calming atmosphere in the cottage. Just enough space inside for a getaway week for my husband and I, and we immediately felt relaxed upon arrival. The owners were available to talk with by email and by phone with all questions answered quickly. Reasonably priced for the amenities, view, and accommodations. Consider renting it was worthwhile!

My husband and I had such a great week!!! What a vacation!!! It was so nice to be away from all of the craziness and just be on your own little island!!!! I can't wait to go back. Bit O' Heav'n House was really nice.. The pictures didn't do it justice. To begin, the house has the best view on the island. The owners were so great, always responding very quickly and answering all the questions that we had. Can't wait to plan our next Cape trip!

Not only is the house beautiful and wonderfully located, it is on an island, at the top of a sand dune and with a beach ... a paradise, said my son when we arrived !

This will be our 5th year at this property and it gets better every time! The house is very comfortable and offers top of the line amenities. A very open floor plan with beautiful tile floors (easy to sweep), granite counter tops in the kitchen and a dishwasher. The best part of the house is the location, beachfront with a deck to die for - I promise you will spend 80% of your time on the deck or on the beach.
