Quidnet Info and area map
New owners have completely redone this newer home tucked away behind the pines in a quiet and private setting just 1/2 mile away from one of Nantucket's most beautiful beaches. This well appointed and newly furnished home has a fresh & elegant Nantucket feeling. Open and airy, its four levels of living space feature private decks off every room, windows galore, newly restored wide planked pine floors and white beadboard. Main entry opens to the living/dining/kitchen area with cathedral ceilings, fireplace, and a well-equipped kitchen for entertaining (all new kitchenware). Back entry to kitchen leads to large private deck for outdoor grilling & dining with enclosed outdoor shower at far end. Front porch with wrap around deck has swing and offers sunset views and sounds of the ocean. The low ambient light in this larger acreage rural zoned area creates an ideal back drop for star & meteor shower gazing and restful sleep.

A few steps down from the main living area is a bright & restful master suite with cathedral ceiling and French door to private deck with seating area surrounded by greenery & flowers. The mahogany queen bed is adorned with crisp white satin stitched hotel linens with sea glass lamps to light your bedtime reading. The master bath has a Jacuzzi, stand alone tiled shower and double sink vanity.
A few steps above the main living area is a 1/2 bath and hallway, leading to two guest bedrooms and access to a large loft area. The serene and elegant queen guest room has a canopy bed layered with sea green and blue linens and accented with whites. The twin bedroom offers bright blues and whites with antique white iron cottage beds and tailored bed skirts. Each guest bedroom has a sink and separate entry to a full bath shared between the bedrooms. French doors in guest bedrooms open to a low private deck leading to a patio area & lawn and covered by a roof trellis & flowering plants.
Large loft area is accessed from the hallway by a whaling ship style stairway. On the right side of the loft are two twin beds with blue & white quilts and bedskirts and a nightstand in between. On the left side there is a fun seating area under a skylight and cabled TV w/DVD. The loft area is large and a good space for games, exercise, meditation or yoga.
Quidnet is situated between Sconset & Town and surrounded by conservation land with a variety of walking trails. 5/10 of a mile to the west is the 17 mile Polpis bike path loop which leads to town and Sconset and also provides access to miles of mountain biking trails inside the loop. Take a 20 min. bike ride to Sconset for an ice cream at the Sconset Market and return for a swim at the Quidnet beaches.
As this Gem is only 1/2 mile from two beautiful beaches with open vistas and unobstructed views of Sankaty. Sesachacha Pond Beach is a protected beach and offers warm and calm waters for children. Just walk over the dune path for oceanside swimming & spectacular beach walks. The beaches are a 10 min. walk, 5 min. bike ride or 1-2 min. drive from the house. The Quidnet beaches are often sunny and warm during the summer season when the south shore beaches are veiled in fog and cool offshore winds.
The casual or avid fisherman can enjoy surf or kayak fishing for blues, flounder and striped bass from this bountiful Quidnet/Squam fishing area or travel a short distance by SUV to the Great Point beach entrance in Wauwinet (Great Pt. vehicle permit required).
Other activities on the island include golf, tennis, sailing, kayaking, surfing, deep sea fishing, tidal pool exploration & crabbing, historic & nature walks, birding, indoor ice skating rink, performing & visual art classes, children's day camps, boutique shopping, art gallery viewing and excellent dining. |
