About Bijou Gypsy Jazz...Performing in the Bijou Gypsy Ensemble will be Lary Chaplan, violin; Gary Gross, guitar; and Bert Jackson, guitar, in the style of Django Rinehart, the music of 1930s Hot Club of France.
Gary Gross attended Berklee where he studied jazz guitar
with Harry Leahy and classical guitar with Frederick Hand of the Metropolitan Opera of New York. Gary teaches and performs on Cape Cod and loves all styles of guitar.
Originally from LA, Lary Chaplan played as a free lance violinist in New York for 18 years, working with various symphonies, pit orchestras, rock bands, and jazz bands. In 1989, Lary moved to Cape Cod and joined the Cape Symphony Orchestra.Bert’s style is diverse and unique with a strong background in jazz and blues, flavored with his love for world music and the unusual. Bert organizes several local festivals and co-hosts the Feed Your Love Open Mic at Wellfleet Preservation Hall.
