About Boat Builders Show on Cape Cod...The 14th annual Boat Builders Show on Cape Cod, “the best little boat show in the Northeast,” returns February 7-9 to the Resort and Conference Center at 35 Scudder Avenue in Hyannis. Show hours are Friday 2-7 pm, Saturday 10 am–6 pm, Sunday 10 am– 4 pm. For the past 13 years, current and future boat owners have visited the show for the opportunity to see an amazing selection of unique, custom and limited-production wood and fiberglass boats. The unique show focuses on smaller builders of custom and limited production boats. Boaters looking for a unique, rewarding boat buying experience will discover a variety of custom-built sail and powerboats built out of both wood and fiberglass. Buyers looking for this kind of craftsmanship and unique design have few opportunities to touch and actually board these unique boats while comparing workmanship and features from a variety of builders. Every visitor has the chance to talk directly with the craftsman and discuss details of the building process. The show presents a “family of builders, passionate and proud of their product,” said Scott Dayton, show organizer. A recent visitor described the boats as “functional art” as many of the designs are traditional and timeless. Whether attendees are considering having a boat built or just looking to escape the winter gray for a few hours, the show promises a unique experience. This year America’s Boat Club (formerly the Cape Cod Sail and Power Squadron) will conduct seminars each day of the show.
