About Dixie Diehards: A Trip to New Orleans...Known for their spirited presentations of Dixieland music, the Dixie Diehards play toe-tapping music from New Orleans of the 1920’s and 30’s. The Dixie Diehards will return to the CCMA to offer songs written and performed by Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Walter Donaldson, Fats Waller and other greats of the early jazz era. The program will include a number of tunes you will recognize as well as a few you might not. One thing is certain: You’re sure to leave happier than when you arrived! The band includes a front line of trumpet, trombone, reeds (clarinet & sax). Rhythm section includes tuba, banjo, and drums. Since appearing at CCMA in 2014, the Dixie Diehards have given some 40 concerts throughout southeastern Massachusetts, receiving enthusiastic reviews from audiences of all ages
