    Wonderful!

Fantastic location with a very short walk to the bay, marina and guarded beach. No need to haul linens or chairs and beach umbrellas. The backyard provides nice shade and the patio is set up well for cool evenings and dining outside.

Everything in the cottage was as listed and we truly enjoyed our stay. The homeowners went above and beyond as hosts. Susan and John even helped us when we had car trouble and needed to adjust our checkout time. We've been coming to the cape for over 20 years. This cottage was a great find. show more show less

    Peaceful and Relaxing Vacation

This charming house had all the comforts needed for my husband and I to have a peaceful and relaxing vacation. We loved it.

The location of the house was perfect... we really enjoyed the private neighborhood beach and the short walk to the 2 restaurants at Barnstable Harbor. We also went on the whale watch boat from Barnstable Harbor and were lucky enough to see whales in Cape Cod Bay!

We look forward to renting this house again for our next vacation.

    Perfect getaway

We are retired and this was the perfect place for us. The porch was an added bonus. We did puzzles out there, read and crocheted. The kitchen is fully equipped. The neighborhood quiet and neighbors friendly. The patio has a table, chairs, settee and chaises — even a ping pong table! And on top of all that it's pet friendly.

    Great time in Barnstable

We had a wonderful visit. The house was great and very comfortable. Loved the coffee maker. Outdoor shower is great and you can see the water from the kitchen. Great neighborhood and the Mattakeese Wharf is a great time as is Barnstable.

    Cozy,comfortable, clean and convenient!

We are a family of four with a small dog, and we stayed for three nights this fall. It is an adorable house with everything you need and located in a lovely neighborhood. The yard and patio area are also very nice with a view of the bay.

The house is only a few steps from the beach and a short walk to the harbor where you can go on a whale watch cruise. There is also a restaurant with beautiful views and a fish market/restaurant where we chatted with some locals that were very friendly and helpful with ideas of things to do in the area.

The weather did not cooperate for our trip. We encountered a lot of rain but having a great place to stay with all the comforts of home including a big television and an electric fireplace helped. We would definitely like to return and enjoy the beach and hopefully a sunset!

    Charming Cottage

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this charming cottage. We looked forward to returning there every evening after hours of fun-filled activities on the Cape. It was clean, welcoming and comfortable with a pleasant atmosphere. Great location, as well.
We enjoyed taking our two dogs for walks on the beach and watching beautiful sunsets every evening. The nearby restaurants and great little market were a bonus. John and Susan were a pleasure, and we absolutely look forward to staying at their lovely cottage again. show more show less

    Exactly as pictured and described

I have stayed here at least three times, and have had a good experience each time. Home is comfortable, and well stocked with everything you need. The porch is the perfect spot for reading. Very relaxing. Short walk to the beach, where the sunsets are amazing! I am sure we will be back again.

We bought this property because it was in a great area and I have vacationed here since I was 5 years old. We used to visit my Grandmother and then my parents continued the tradition and also bought a home in the area. This smaller cottage was our chance to enjoy the area with our family. We usually save four weeks during the summer for family members to enjoy and we rent out the remaining weeks.
We love the quietness of the neighborhood but the proximity to so many conveniences. The walk past the Harbor and to the Village area is always enjoyable. The beach is private to residents of the neighborhood and, therefore, it is not very populated. The beach is in a bay inlet and provides calm seas to kayak, paddleboard and swim. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do!

What is special about this property?
Our home is small but cozy and every item you need for a Cape vacation is provided. There is a fully stocked kitchen, towels, bed linens and beach chairs available. There is a one-person kayak (2 life preservers), available for your enjoyment. For fun, there is a cornhole game and an outdoor ping pong table. You can see the ocean from the house and the beach access pathway is three houses away. The outdoor patio is comfortable with two lounge chairs, polywood table for six, a wicker loveseat and two high top polywood chairs. There is also a great outdoor shower to enjoy anytime.

What is special about your town?
We are in a central Cape location; close to beaches, restaurants and shopping. Barnstable Village and the harbor are walking distance. The Cape bike trail is is short drive. There is a boat launch at the harbor for any boat owner's convenience.
