Conveniently located on a shady, quiet lane off historic Route 6A, we include everything you need in the rental rate - WiFi, pantry supplies, soaps and towels, beach parking pass, towels, chairs & sand toys, all bed linens. We will consider pets, and partial week stays, so please inquire.
Air conditioned inside and big yard outside, the house is close to world-class salt- and fresh-water beaches, shopping, dining, protected bike trails and wooded or marsh-side hiking trails.
This comfy home sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms; a king-bed room and a queen-bed room. It has a fully-equipped galley kitchen with full-sized appliances (dishwasher too), a bathroom with walk-in shower with grab bars at shower & toilet and full sized washer/dryer. The bright and casual living/ room with windows on three sides leads to a covered porch. We take pride in super clean spaces and unique touches.
Included are 100% cotton bed linens and bath towels. For the beach we provide a beach sticker for parking at Town of Barnstable public beaches, chairs, towels, sand toys, and coolers.
We stock the bath with paper goods, soaps, shampoos & conditioners, hair dryers, and laundry supplies so you don't have to. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster oven, tea kettle, tea pot, and Keurig coffee maker. We have tea, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts k-cups, and paper goods for you in the pantry. If you'd like something stocked before your arrival, we can assist. We always like to leave a special something in the pantry for you.
Outside is a relaxing shaded porch, a picnic table, adirondack chairs and a charcoal Weber grille.
Strong WiFi and a smart TV supports your streaming devices. Our library is curated with local Cape authors (including Van's murder mystery!), some classics, kids books and a good selection of games and puzzles.
We have maps for trails within walking distance or a very short drive away. A 9-minute drive west takes you to Sandy Neck Beach, a magnificent 7-mile barrier beach that reveals long swaths of tidal flats and offering a bathhouse, restrooms, a great snack bar (good for dinner, too!) All Town of Barnstable beaches have surf chairs and all public beaches are accessibility features. (Beaches and all public spaces in the Town of Barnstable are designated no-smoking.)
A 9-minute drive to the east is Barnstable Village where you will find coffee shops, an organic vegetable farm stand, the local village grocery store, great dining, interesting local shops with local art, antiques and pottery. The Hyannis Whale Watcher boat is anchored in nearby Barnstable Harbor and we highly recommend this soul-enriching experience.
In a 15-minute drive to the west are found Cape Cod Canal bikeways, canal-side restaurants and clam bars, and the historic town of Sandwich with several museums including Heritage Museums and Gardens with their Hidden Hollow made just for kids. Downtown Hyannis is 15 minutes to the south where several museums are located within walking distance of each other: Cape Cod Maritime Museum, The Zion Union Heritage Museum and the JFK Hyannis Museum. These are all located amongst Main Street's locally owned shops, artist shanties, and over 50 great eateries. Steps away from Main Street are sightseeing boats, fishing charters and island ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. We are less than a mile from the Route 6 on-ramp at exit 68 and the National Seashore, points east, and towns such as Provincetown are quickly accessed from our central location for super fun day trips.
