Description

Description

Conveniently located on a quiet lane off historic Route 6A, we include everything you need in the rental rate - WiFi, pantry supplies, soaps and towels, beach parking pass, towels, chairs & sand toys, all bed linens. We will consider pets, and partial week stays, so please inquire.

Air conditioned inside and big yard outside, the house is close to world-class salt- and fresh-water beaches, shopping, dining, protected bike trails and wooded or marsh-side hiking trails.

This comfy home sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms; a king-bed room and a queen-bed room. It has a fully-equipped galley kitchen, a bathroom with walk-in shower with grab bars at shower & toilet and full sized washer/dryer. The bright and casual living/ room with windows on three sides leads to a covered porch. We take pride in super clean spaces and unique touches.

Included are 100% cotton bed linens and bath towels. For the beach we provide a beach sticker for parking at Town of Barnstable public beaches, chairs, towels, sand toys, and coolers.

We stock the bath with TP, soaps, shampoos & conditioners, hair dryers, and laundry supplies. The kitchen has a microwave, toaster oven, tea kettle, tea pot, and Keurig coffee maker. We have stock the pantry with tea, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts k-cups, and paper goods. If you'd like something stocked before your arrival, we can assist.

Outside is a relaxing shaded porch, a picnic table, adirondack chairs and a charcoal grille.

Strong WIFI and smart TV supports your streaming devices. We do have an HDMI cable. Our library is curated with local Cape authors, some classics, kids books and a good selection of games and puzzles.

We have maps for trails within walking distance or a very short drive away. A 9-minute drive west takes you to Sandy Neck Beach, a magnificent 7-mile barrier beach that reveals long swaths of tidal flats and offering a bathhouse, restrooms, a great snack bar (good for dinner, too!) All Town of Barnstable beaches have surf chairs and all public beaches are handicapped accessible.

A 9-minute drive to the east is Barnstable village where you will find coffee shops, an organic vegetable farm stand, the local village grocery store, great dining, interesting local shops with local art and pottery. The Hyannis Whale Watcher boat is anchored in nearby Barnstable Harbor and we recommend this soul-enriching experience.

In a 15-minute drive to the west are found Cape Cod Canal bikeways, canal-side restaurants and clam bars, and the historic town of Sandwich with several museums including Heritage Museums and Gardens with their Hidden Hollow made just for kids. Downtown Hyannis is 15 minutes to the south where several museums are located within walking distance of each other: Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Mass. Air & Space Museum, The Zion Union Heritage Museum and the JFK Hyannis Museum. These are all located amongst Main Street shops, artist shanties, and great restaurants. Steps away from Main Street are sightseeing boats, fishing charters and island ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. We are less than a mile from the Route 6 on-ramp at exit 68 and the National Seashore, points east, and towns such as Provincetown are quickly accessed from our central location for super fun day trips.

    Cottage rental

The cottage in Barnstable, Cape Cod was terrific. The directions were accurate and the beach pass was a definite plus. The cottage was nicely decorated and comfortable. Wendy thought of everything, from the extra lunch bags,
cooler and stacked medicine cabinet to snacks and plenty of towels and supplies.
It's a nice, quiet neighborhood on a dead end street with the patio on the back of the property for privacy.
We highly recommend this hidden jem and would come back again.

A dream stay and Cape Cod experience

This cozy cottage had everything we could want and more. A warm welcome from the hosts, comfortable beds, and a cozy setting inside and out. We were close to everything we wanted to see and do, and felt the unique Cape Cod experience even when we were relaxing inside between activities. I can't recommend this house enough, and can't wait to return!

    Sun-drenched Classic Cape Getaway

We came to the Cape for the weekend to visit family and had a lovely stay in Van and Wendy's beautiful home! When we arrived there were snacks out as well as a personal note and ample information giving us everything we needed for navigating our way around the area. The bed was very comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need at our fingertips for a lovely and comfortable weekend. This location is just around the corner from Sandy Neck, and is right off one of the most scenic highways in America. Van and Wendy are thoughtful and attentive hosts offering a classic and cozy Cape visit experience - we will definitely be back soon!!! show more show less

    Great place!

This immaculate home was a fantastic stepping off place for anywhere on the cape! Rooms are huge, all necessary items are provided and it's dog-friendly. We enjoyed daily walks at Sandy Neck beach and Barnstable Village is charming. The local general store has anything you might need including great take out pizza. We'd love to return again!

    Honeymoon

We spent our honeymoon on Cape Cod! What a wonderful trip….the cottage exceeded our expectations. Wendy thought of everything!!!! The cottage was so well-stocked and homey!! The washer and dryer were a huge plus because we didn't have to check baggage at the airport. It was a fantastic location.

    Stunning Sandy Nook Cottage vacation!

We feel so lucky to have experienced Sandy Nook Cottage for a glorious week on Cape Cod. From the moment we arrived we were thrilled with the beautiful and inviting space Wendy and her husband have created in their lovely rental property. The cottage was spotless with everything needed from towels to a well appointed kitchen. The cottage is nestled among trees and peaceful. We were able to bring our beloved dog which made our trip fantastic. There is state of the art air conditioning that keeps all the rooms at a comfortable temperature. The beaches are a very short distance away and there is a beach pass provided! Even though we've visited the Cape many times the bay and ocean beaches were incredible! We couldn't stop saying "Wow". We've been sharing our photos and recommending this gorgeous gem to family and friends. show more show less

A Hidden Gem in West Barnstable

The Sandy Nook Cottage is a hidden gem tucked a few miles away from the main tourist attractions and traffic. We were most impressed by how inviting it was - beautifully decorated with comfortable beds, clean, and fully stocked with anything we needed. The owners even left all the little things you often forget like qtips, a med kit, and cleaning supplies. They supplied linens, towels, and toiletries -- and all kitchen items were there and available, including a Keurig. They shared their beach chairs and a beach pass to the local beaches, which we definitely took advantage of. In their welcome booklet it had everything we needed to know about the cottage, along with contact info, and they included some of their favorite places.

Our favorite was Sandy Neck Beach -- walking the trails in the sand dunes to and from the quiet beach. Our family absolutely loved it. Just like the cottage, it was a hidden gem. For families with dogs, this was perfect. The owners allowed us to bring our dog, and dogs are welcome to walk the trails and to visit a section of the beach, which is rare during the summer months.

Outside the cottage was a picnic table and some comfortable Adirondack chairs to relax in before starting or ending the day.

I must add the home owners were easy to communicate with and quick to respond. I would recommend this place to anyone - and will definitely be back.
