Private Beach and Dock
Cotuit Vacation Rental - ID 2495

We stayed here the first week of July during a particularly rainy summer. The house is beautiful, very well-equipped and was perfect for reading, playing games, and relaxing. When the sun was shining, we enjoyed sitting on the dock with our books and coffee/drinks enjoying the view. The cove is perfect for kayaking (kayaks included with the house) and the Little River Sanctuary across the street was great for taking long walks. The owner was very responsive and even checked in on our first day to see if we had any questions. We would definitely rent this lovely house again.

Of note, having been to Cotuit many times to visit with our year-round resident friends, we never realized that one must have a resident parking pass to park at any of the beaches in Cotuit (everyone is welcome to swim). Our family lives for summer swimming at open water beaches so, in order to do so, brought my husband's bike with us to the Loop Beach. Several times during the week, he dropped us off with our beach gear and drove the car back to the center of Cotuit. He would then ride his bike back to the beach to join us. Loop Beach was very family friendly with lifeguards and rest rooms. Oregon Beach was a bit far from the center to do the bike drop off/pick up routine. show more show less

We prefer vacation properties with lots of space inside and out and John's property hit all the bases. An extremely functional house that brought us back in time. We appreciated this historical house with all the built ins, nooks and updated full baths. We spent most of our time on the dock and kayaked everyday. I loved looking at all the houses on the shore and the lack of active boats-very quiet. The stairs to the dock keep you in shape :) Our dog roamed the property without any issues. We enjoyed walking the streets and never got to the conservation land (next trip). When we lost the sun on the dock we moved up to the deck at the house. The screened in porch was a great spot for our dog and a touch of sun with your coffee while everyone was sleeping. We were fine without any air conditioning but it was a bit damp on the humid days, all fine with us. Cotuit is beautiful quaint town. show more show less

If you are looking for a great location in Cotuit, stay in this house! Beautiful views and amazing direct access to the water for swimming, boating and kayaking. Easy access to trails for hiking the Eagle Pond Sanctuary located right across the street! The house and bedrooms are spacious and offer authentic Cape Cod charm. We are already looking forward to another stay next summer. Thank you John for sharing your wonderful home with us!

A beautiful house with gorgeous natural light (so many windows!) and terrific views from every room. The dock and bathhouse are both really lovely places to while away afternoons bird-watching. The water is great for kayaking and swimming. The nature preserve across the street has a complex of trails in the woods that provide for good exploring, hiking, running, or dog-walking. The house boasts a back porch and a screened-in side porch. Armchairs and couches abound for curling up with books in the evenings or on rainy days. The kitchen is well equipped; many of the rooms are wood-paneled; the float offers excellent star-gazing. I couldn't recommend a more idyllic vacation spot. show more show less

We thoroughly enjoy our stay every year. This historic house is in the best possible location on a private beach at one side and a nature preserve at the other. Though most of the appliances are new, the rooms' traditional style is charming indeed.
