Description

Velkommen til ''pet friendly'' ShoestringBayHouse directly on beautiful Popponesset Bay (our bay connects to Vineyard Sound). Get ready to enjoy a waterfront vacation home overlooking Shoestring Bay and your own wading beach where you can launch the supplied kayaks or maybe that sleek Boston Whaler you had delivered from All Cape Boat Rentals. If the beach and ocean are not your thing, relax by our unheated in-ground pool (open July 1st thru Oct 1st) or take that eBike you rented and go for a tour of Cotuit, Beebe Woods, the Falmouth or Cape Cod Rail Trail. We also include a couple of adult-use cycles. Our home has multiple living areas, each with spectacular water views and six central air-conditioning units, so all members of the group can have a secluded spot to watch television, read or just relax. There is even a second TV room and kitchen just for the teens. Our home is just 10 minutes from Mashpee Commons and New Seabury where you will find unparalleled dinning, shopping and entertainment.

At other rental homes on Cape Cod you will pay extra for some amenities, but not at ShoestringBayHouse. We include a Barnstable beach pass for your vehicle, along with beach chairs and umbrellas. Yes; bicycles and sit-on-top kayaks are also included ! Is there something extra that you need? We would be glad to include, at no charge, any nominal items that you need such as a secondary beach pass, bike or kayak rack, ''Pack n' Play'', high-chair or baby monitor. As an option, we can arrange for the rental of a Boston Whaler, eBike or a specialty pedal-kayak such as the Perception Pilot 12. You can anchor right at our beach, load up the boat and then head out to The Spit or nearby Sampson's Island.

We know how important your fur family member is to you and we welcome your well behaved dog. Our home features a fenced-in doggie play area that is attached to the garage. And speaking of ''pet friendly'' our home is adjacent to the Crocker Neck conservation area with miles of dog friendly hiking trails. This is one of the few dog friendly areas that you and your dog can enjoy together. There is even a small beach at the end of the trail where your dog can jump in the bay and cool off. (various pet fees may apply, TBD)

Features Include: *Waterfront (Shoestring Bay) *Wading Beach (see picture) *20x40 In-ground Pool (not heated)* Poolside ''Sonos'' speakers* *screened-in porch by the pool *Two Kayaks *Two (adult) Hybrid Bikes *2 TV Rooms, one with a 65'' television *2 Kitchens * Weber Grill plus a corn & lobster cooker *Central Air Conditioning *Pet Friendly *Fenced in dog run* Barnstable (town-wide) Beach Pass *5 TV's all with multiple streaming services. *Comcast High Speed internet *Bose, Sonos & google music (inside & out) systems *Poolside urinal & shower* Upper deck rinse station for when you come back from the beach* Beach/ sand chairs and umbrellas*

This home, located in a child friendly (great for biking) and quiet neighborhood, is perfect for two families vacationing together, extended families or grandparents. With a separate master suite and multiple living rooms, everyone will be comfortable. Our waterfront home has four bedrooms, four full baths, one half-bath off the lower TV room, poolside bath house with a shower, sink and a urinal, two kitchens (summer kitchen at pool level), a TV room on each level, one large sun room with attached outdoor dining deck, a large living room adjoining the dining room with seating for ten. There is direct access from the kitchen to the upper deck, where you will find a Weber grill and Lobster Cooker. The media room houses a sleeping alcove (nestled in a cozy corner) and is adjacent to a full bath. This sleeping alcove makes a great temporary sleeping area for two guests with a twin size daybed and trundle. Our home comfortably sleeps eight (8) with provisions for two temporary guests in the media room and an extra trundle in the teens bedroom. There is also a half-bath adjacent to the teens bedroom. **Note: bedroom #4, the lower TV Room and the lower half-bath have been completely gutted and refurbished from the ground up.

Cotuit Beach Info: Since ShoestringBayHouse includes a beach pass you can drive to any of the numerous beaches in Barnstable. Within biking distance of our home are three town beaches. Mostly everyone heads over to Cotuit's Loop Beach with its gentle slope into the water. It also has a bath house and lifeguards so everyone will be safe and have fun. The kids love it when the ice cream truck rings its bell to signal its stop at the beach! Adults love the seclusion of the Main St (Oregon) Beach while sailors and kayakers love Ropes beach for its location in Cotuit Bay.

The wading beach right in front of our home is great for walking, sunsets, relaxing, crab chasing, playing catch with your dog and wading in the water for the kids. You can also anchor your boat right in front of our home. For fishing, just head down 50 yards to the point, where you will find incredible Striped Bass fishing during the season!

Mandatory Massachusetts lodging taxes and misc fees (TBD) are not included in the displayed price. There are no realtor fees when you rent through the W.N.A.V. website, other fees may apply depending on the time period rented (some prime weeks include fees). We are a registered and inspected rental property and comply with all vacation housing and tax codes. This property is owned and managed through a Trust. Certificate of compliance is available for inspection. Lodging Tax ID: C0027470200.

Bet you will not be green....step one, turn the air conditioning to 70 degrees or higher ! Fantastic stay at Shoestring Bay House

Just returned from a stunning week at Shoestring Bay House. Immaculate and luxurious home on a quiet and beautiful cove. Paul was a perfect host - home is full of thoughtful touches. And a gorgeous pool - heaven.

More Cape Cod Zen at Shoestring Bay House

This was our 3rd year renting Shoestring Bay House. We love it more every year and dream about the views in the off season. It is a gorgeous property overlooking a serene bay and between the pool, kayaks, paddle boards you don't even have to go to the beach (although I do love Oregon Beach). Paul, the owner, was so great to work with again this year. We look forward to renting again next year!

    Great Week with Family!

We had a lovely week at Shoestring Bay House. We spent the week for a family reunion of two families. Lay out of house worked perfectly. We had plenty of time together and privacy. The pool is large and was great for kids of all ages (ours ranged from 2-15). The views and sunsets were fabulous. We couldn't have been happier with our experience.

Another Awesome Week at Shoestring Bay House

This was our second year renting this house and it was even better than last year. There were some great changes and the pool and views make relaxing very easy here. Paul, the owner, is so easy to work with and great with communicating. We love this property and hope to rent it again next year!

    Awesome Family Vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shoestring Bay House. It is even nicer and larger than it appears in the pictures. The house is immaculate and had everything we could need for a wonderful week. We especially enjoyed the kayaks and the pool. Paul was great to work with and super responsive. Overall a great place to vacation on the Cape!

    Shoestring is Great

Great time at this great spot. House was spotless, kids loved the crystal clear pool, close access to great beaches. Gorgeous water views from the house and porches. Great appliances and kitchen setup. Paul, the owner, is great to work with; available and keeps his promises. Highly recommend this large house very close to Cotuit center.

    Best time ever!

We couldn't be happier. This was a splurge for our 50th wedding anniversary. NO DISAPPOINTMENT! There were 11 of us. I loved the "Great Room", my term for the room that was dining table, sitting room space and sun room all together. Plenty of space for us all to be together. Off the sun room was a small deck with a table where we converged every morning for coffee. Kitchen was plenty big enough for 4 women to work comfortably to make meals. Convenient appliances like coffee maker and single cup. The pool and outside toys (kayak, etc) were enjoyed by all. I would also like to mention that Paul, the owner, was always on high alert. Prior to our rental he was always prompt to respond, and while we were at his property, he always responded quickly. He never left us hanging, nor was he impatient. He is a great landlord. We highly recommend this property. After thought: the house smelled new and clean and the air conditioners kept all the rooms comfortable.. Thank you, Paul, for helping us to make a wonderful memory. Worth every penny, or dollar. : ) show more show less

    Wonderful

We loved our stay. The house is lovely, clean, large, and comfortable. Frankly, the photos do not do it justice. We enjoyed our time by the pool and paddling around in the calm waters of the river. We enjoyed the environment so much that we preferred to stay "home" for meals. It was perfect for our family and we hope to return.

    Great Family Gathering

The house and the amenities were wonderful at Shoestring Bay House! The owner was easy to work with and easily available if needed. The location is perfect for enjoying all that Cape Cod has to offer -- when you can get the kids out of the pool! The house offered plenty of room for all ten of us to spread out or to gather for meals and fun.

ShoestringBayHouse was acquired by my parents Paul and Audrey Thompson in May of 1981. After their first visit to Cotuit in 1977, they fell in love with the serenity of this quaint village. In the early 2000's the property moved into a Trust and is now a family retreat.

What is special about this property?
We love the serenity of Shoestring Bay and the views of the water from the bluff that our home sits on. Every room and deck has an incredible view of the water.

What is special about your town?
Cotuit is known as one of the quieter villages in Barnstable. When we are looking for some excitement we always head to Lowell Field for a Triple A baseball game. Go Kettleers !!!
