Description

All the charm of Cape Cod without congestion or traffic! This meticulous and sun-filled 4-bedroom, 2 full bath home is located on Converse Point in Marion, steps from our private beach with views of idyllic Aucoot Cove. A short, flat bike ride to the village as well as Silver Shell beach. This charming Cape Cod style home, located on a quiet dead-end street, has private beach access, perfect for launching a kayak, clamming, swimming or reading by the sea.

Completely rebuilt by one of the area's most respected builders, this tastefully finished home offers an open living, dining and kitchen area as well as a first-floor bedroom, full bathroom and den. Step out of the living room onto the large deck with tranquil views of the water. The second floor boasts a large master bedroom with a private balcony that overlooks the yard and provides for wonderful views of water. There are two additional bedrooms, a large bathroom with ample storage, and a laundry room.

The house is equipped with everything you need for a relaxing week. We provide bed linens and beach & bath towels, the kitchen is well-appointed. There is a closet full of games and puzzles as well as corn hole and spike ball for hanging out in the fenced-in, professionally landscaped back yard.

Head to Cape Cod for a day trip. Spend the day at Water Wiz in Wareham. Take a ferry over to Martha’s Vineyard or Block Island from Falmouth or New Bedford. Try a great local restaurant or ice cream stand in Marion or nearby Mattapoisett.

Buzzards Bay is well known for its trophy fishing. Catch striped bass, bluefish or if you’re lucky, a false albacore tuna right off your own beach. The Cape Cod Canal is a 15-minute drive away if you are a serious angler looking to target huge stripers. Feel free to ask me for some advice, and don’t forget to bring your fishing gear.

This was our 3rd year and we simply had the very best time once again! The house is perfect. It is great when my husband and I are here alone and even better when the family comes to visit. We love the Kayaking and exploring the marsh. The deck is perfect for family gatherings (and we had many!).

Thanks, Thanks Thanks - See you next year

    Perfect!

We had an incredible stay in this beautiful home. The house was steps from a quiet beach, great for kayaking or simply relaxing. After a day at the beach or exploring the area we loved sitting on the deck and watching the sunset. The house itself is furnished beautifully, is open and airy, and had loads of space. Mike, the homeowner, was so helpful and responsive to any questions. We couldn't have been happier and can't wait to return next summer!

We were here to two weeks, two hurricanes, two completed 1000 piece puzzles, two AWESOME low tides, multiple of two kayak marsh explorations and lots of family guests. What a great time we've had! Thank you for sharing your place with us, we love it!

Simply a beautiful place to hang out, great for our family! We enjoyed the beach & kayaking as much as possible and, of course, visited our old favorite - Turks Seafood and Oxford Creamery. Thanks for sharing your place with us.

    Fantastic Vacation!

We had the best time at this house, stayed two separate weeks this summer. It's beautiful, clean and truly comfortable. The kitchen/living/dining area is very conducive to family gatherings and the view from the deck (and the yard, and the fire pit, and the outdoor shower) is the best! Very close to water and a non-crowded beach, the kayaking is great, we enjoyed exploring the marsh. We will be back!!

We had a lovely time. We especially enjoyed the clamming (then eating them), sitting by the outside fire and kayaking. Even though it rained for 2 days, this was a great place just to hang. Mike is a wonderful landlord…

We have lived in Acton, Massachusetts for fifteen years and have been renting in Marion and Mattapoisett for most of that time. In December of 2019, we decided it was time to put down some roots in our favorite little corner of the world, so we purchased this beautiful Marion house from a wonderful woman who called it her year-round home for many, many years. She attended to the house with exceptional care and had it renovated from top to bottom in 2004, sparing no expense for fine craftsmanship and attention to detail. We just knew that this was "the" house for us when we first set our eyes on our very own private piece of tranquil Aucoot Cove. This quaint town has a rich sailing history as well as close proximity to Cape Cod and the Islands without the bridges, traffic, or congestion.

    About Us
Michael has worked as a manager for a medical device company for 24 years. In his spare time he enjoys fine woodworking--we have a number of his custom pieces throughout the house. Mike is an avid saltwater fisherman and is looking forward to another terrific season on Buzzards Bay, Vineyard Sound, and in the canal. Meghan is a seventh-grade English teacher who loves to read, look for sea glass on the beach, and walk the family Golden Retriever on wonderful nearby trails.

What is special about this property?
We spend most of our days reading on our private beach or deck, kayaking and paddle-boarding in the cove, clamming and quahogging at low tide, swimming at Marion's adorable public Silvershell beach, golfing, or biking to the village for ice cream or grilled cheese at Kate's. Every summer, we day-trip over to the Cape, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, and Cuttyhunk from nearby ferries in New Bedford, Falmouth and Hyannis. When it rains, we drive to New Bedford's amazing Whaling Museum. And no summer is complete without a trip to nearby Water Wizz water park in Wareham!

When we aren't grilling on our new Weber gas grill or throwing a good old-fashioned lobster/clam boil with friends, we love to head to one of the great seasonal restaurants in the nearby area. Our favorites include: Oxfords for fried clams, Turk's in Mattapoisett for sushi and seafood, burgers at Brewfish in Marion, or even window-service at Kool Kone in Wareham.

What is special about your town?
Marion's rich history is rooted primarily in sailing, seafaring and whaling, but it also boasts author Henry James and President Grover Cleveland as one-time residents. Currently, Marion is known for quaint and idyllic summer living as well as the reputable private school, Tabor Academy.
