Description

Description

We would like to invite you to be our guests at Maushop Village in New Seabury. This cottage condo has windows on three sides as it is an end unit. You step onto the white picket fence, a red brick patio where a geranium flower box & white screen door greet you. Once into the house, wide pine board floors lead you first into the living room and than the galley kitchen. French doors privatize the sun porch with space to eat and sleep and a new tile floor. A sun porch door leads to a second fenced-in patio with a gas grill. Trees & grass in the background. The first-floor bedroom has a queen-size bed, & a dresser, a skylight window to view stars, & a newly finished closet. The bedroom has been freshly painted in a pastel color. The living room has a large couch, matching comfortable chair, widescreen TV, WiFi, & eating countertop. The kitchen has dishes, silverware, pot & pans. Also a full-size refrigerator, microwave, white stove & dishwasher. Downstairs also has a convenient 1/2 bath. The upstairs bedroom has 2 beds,1 double,1 single, a dresser, a ceiling fan, three windows, 2 with an ocean view in the distance. Nice closet with iron and ironing board. All floors are light wood and shine throughout. The private deeded beach is about 2 minutes from the condo. People bring their own chairs and beach supplies. Children build sandcastles and the waves flow in and out with the tide. This is the perfect place for reading and sunbathing.
This is a well-kept, & equipped charming cottage There is ample parking space at this unit with one reserved space for the owner's renters. This location is noted for being very quiet especially at night. Security checks make for a safe home away from home with a security guard on-duty at our Maushop enterance.

The village looks like a scene from Nantucket Island. Mashpee is not far from the Bourne Bridge & makes traveling to our cottage a snap of a drive. The location is perfect since we are right on a South Cape deeded private beach. The Gulf Stream runs through and warms the water. A cool breeze blows up from the bluff and makes for natural air conditioning if one does not care to use the A/C. Enjoy a week or longer here, where young and old can smell the ocean, swim, fish, play in the sand, sunbathe, sit on benches around the village, or walk our two-mile sandy shore. Sunsets and sunrises are very beautiful here while overlooking the sea. There are many paths throughout the village. Walk to the marketplace for anything you need at the general store & an evening ice cream cone or to play miniature golf. Dine at Popponesset Inn or the Raw Bar. One night walk to New Seabury Country Club for excellent cuisine dining while enjoying the ocean and golf course views.

You will love renting this condo that has modern conveniences while retaining the Old Cape Cod charm. Call if you have questions.

Second year renting this cottage

This is my 2nd year renting this lovely cottage. It's so peaceful and beautiful here. Annie is a wonderful host. Everything you need for an enjoyable vacation is at your fingertips. The beach is just a short walk from here and is always clean, no seaweed or too rocky.

A cottage that is "home away from home"

I have been staying in this cottage for 15+ years: it seems like I am "coming home" each time I drive up to Anne's cottage on Flying Cloud. This comfortable and inviting Nantucket style cottage is a short walk to the private beach and the Popponesset Marketplace. While spending the day on the beach, you can stroll down to the Popponesset Inn, enjoy a fabulous lobster roll, and return to your beach chair! It does not get any better than that!

You will find this unit to be in the quieter section of Maushop Village, which is definitely a PLUS during the busy summer months. This cottage gets a THUMBS UP!

I visited and bought at Maushop Village 31 years ago. I love to swim and the deeded beach was going to be the perfect spot.
At the time I lived in the Berkshires of MA. and worked as a Speech/Lang Pathologist. Western MA had so much to offer but being a Bostonian be birth I missed the ocean. Some family lived on Cape Cod. Before I know it Maushop Village in New Seabury became my second home.
My husband is from Saratoga Springs, NY and after retiring we made Saratoga our home. We travel, enjoy the arts and especially like volunteering for Opera Saratoga, and Yaddo Rose Garden. We like to share our condo with others when we cannot be there, thus we sometimes rent it out.

What is special about this property?
I love the Village atmosphere with the small little Nantucket size gray homes. The white picket fences and geranium flower boxes set the scene of a picture not to be forgotten. The bluff with ocean backdrops and blue skies or an evening sun set bring heavenly romance to mind.
Maushop is a quiet restful place where cares and troubles can easily be forgot. Neighbors are friendly, will stop to chat and give directions. Jogging is popular along the paths and through the village.
When standing at the entrance to the beach, one looks down to stare at the waves, beach goers, resting in the sand or under their umbrellas reading. These are only some of the beautiful thoughts which come to mind at this moment.

What is special about your town?
The convenience of Maphpee, home of New Seabury from the Bourne Bridge is a great asset for anybody driving a few hours to reach Cape Cod. Mashpee Commons has so many little shops and is a village within itself. The best stores are there as well as excellent restaurants.
There is a theatre with the latest of movies. Woods Hole, Falmouth and Hyannas are within a 25 minute drive. Down Cape is a days drive and a delightful excursion especially to the National Sea Shore. The Ferries to the Islands are only about 15 minutes away. Churches and light houses are especially close.
The Mashpee Indians often hold open events with native dancing and delicious food. They are the best cooks of fresh sea food.
Fire works display take place at the NS Country Club for the 4th of July and sometimes at the Common during the summer months.
There is always something to see and do but of course days on the beach are the main attraction.
