Description

Description

This charming stand-alone authentic 1930s cottage, is nestled on a sought after private lane in the West End--half a block from the beach and a few blocks from Sal's, the BoatSlip, Relish, Perry's, the Red Inn, Joe's Coffee, and all the summer fun that Commercial Street offers. An unusual offering, the Atwood Cottage is an untouched artist's retreat with upgrades positioned in an elegant neighborhood with quick access to PTown revelry by foot or car. Tenants have ONE DEDICATED PARKING SPACE, with two West End public parking lots for guests very near.

The GROUND floor includes a front sitting/dining room, a small den with a high end queen pullout, and a galley kitchen which open to a landscaped patio. The UPPER floor is an open bedroom with a queen memory bed with a motorized adjustable frame, a single day bed, and a full bathroom with a standing shower.

We're new, very invested owners completing upgrades and thrilled to host our guests. The rates for 2023 are at a discount as we polish the Cottage's original character and make improvements, including: new mini-splits for air conditioning on each floor, high speed Internet, a streaming TV in the Den, a new induction stove, and a new American Leather queen sleep sofa. We are cozy and historic with a vintage vibe, without a dishwasher or on-site laundry (we provide laundry service for multi-week tenants). The Cottage boasts an exclusive, quaint & classic garden patio abutting lush Telegraph hill.

We're new owner-hosts in PTown, and long-time home exchangers in Rhode Island who are committed to guests' comfort and enjoyment. Feel free to message us with any questions that you might have! We're authentic PTown--built and restored from 1930s, when the artist's retreat was dawning--Tennessee Williams was staying at the Captain Jack's wharf and Hans Hoffmann was painting and teaching a couple of blocks of the Atwood Cottage.

    Picture perfect!

Provicetown may not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of a February getaway. We spent a couple nights at the artists cottage in the west end and had a wonderful time,. Its cozy and warm, perfect for a couple for a quiet winter retreat. It's a short walk to commercial street where the was just enough open in February to enjoy the spirit of this special place.
Steve and Natalie were exceptional host. Highly recommend!

    Atwood cottage provencetown Mass.

We arrive at the house on the 1st of september. The cottage is located close to the provencetown in, wich we swam in almost daily. We enjoyed the private enclosed patio on the side of the cottage for eating meals. My friend enjoyed sleeping on the comfortable queen bed upstairs/with overhead fan, and optional air when it was humid outside. The den has a comfotlrtable pullout also has air that will cool the dowstairs. Overall we enjoyed our stay on the west end. Perfect for those of us who walk daily, and covient to many placez in P-town. show more show less

    FABULOUS stay!!

What a glorious stay at Natalie and Steve's fabulous cottage! My hubby and I shacked up there for three weeks this summer. We only wish it could've been three months!

The cottage's list of superlatives is long (prettiest, coziest, comfortable-ist, etc.) and all well-deserved. Tucked away on the west end of town you'll have tons of privacy all in a package dripping with charm and palpable pride of place. Plus, Natalie and Steve are such well-intentioned hosts, both of whom simply wish to share their love of this charmer with many a visitor to ye ol' Provincetown.

If you're even thinking about visiting Ptown, take a long look at this cottage and prepare to be delighted!

Our favorite place in the outer cape

My wife and I have been coming to P-Town and Truro for many years and have always stayed somewhere different. This is the far and away the best place we have ever stayed. The place is large enough for us to both work and relax. It is airy and comfortable. The kitchen is great, and we really enjoyed grilling on the patio, which is well maintained, charming and comfortable. The interior decoration is lovely and perfect for a cottage atmosphere. The bikes were a great advantage, especially because the bike trails are so close. The West End beach a block away was also great—we would bring the dog down to the beach every morning and he would dash around in the water with the other dogs. It's also a nice swimming beach. The Causeway is right up the road and is an amazing place to see the sunset. Herring Cove is 5-10 minute bike ride. The street is like something out of a fairytale, with lush gardens and quaint cottages, many of which were floated over in the 1850s. Being on this side of P-Town is like another world—it's extremely quiet at night, but just 5 minutes from all the action. I couldn't recommend this place more. show more show less

A Cozy Slice of Heaven at the Tip of The Cape

My stay at the cottage was nothing short of exceptional. Tucked away down a quiet lane, it was even more magical than the photos. Communication with Natalie was wonderful, the beds super comfortable and everything one could need (including bikes!) was there. I truly loved every moment of my stay and will most certainly be back!

Tidy cottage in a great location

My wife and I stayed at this cute cottage over the 4th of July week. The owners were super responsive and accommodating of our last-minute booking. After screening our dog, they allowed us to bring her. The location of this cottage is fantastic. It is just off of Commercial St in the West End of PTown. It is an easy walk into the heart of Commercial Street for dining and shopping, but is in a quiet part of town, so there is plenty of peace and quiet when you want it. We parked the car when we got there, and left it there until it was time to leave. Two bikes are provided, but we chose to walk everywhere we went. There were two small beach areas a short 2 minute walk from the cottage, one of which is a dog beach, which worked out great for us. The cottage is small, but has everything you need. The bathroom is only big enough for one person, and the showerhead is a bit low for 6 footers, but the bathroom is clean and the water pressure and hot water are excellent. There is closet and drawer space for clothing in the bedroom, a queen-size bed, a chair and a day bed. It's a cozy loft-style upstairs bedroom, with a comfortable bed, nice linens and blankets. The downstairs has a living room area, a small den with a TV and sofa that pulls out to a bed, and a small well-stocked kitchen. Outside the cottage is a private garden patio with comfortable furniture. We spent some days sitting and reading in the shade on the patio, and it was wonderful. There is also a garden hose and nozzle for cleaning sand off, if needed. Overall, it is a lovely place to spend a week in Provincetown relaxing and enjoying all that the community has to offer! show more show less

Don't miss this wonderful authentic Ptown cottage

We're only two days in and we are already in love with this cottage. The loving attention the new owners have personally lavished on it is impressive. It's very cozy and charming, yet surprisingly spacious with great outdoor space, A/C splits, a perfect bed AND pullout couch, strong wifi and a good TV. The artistic detail is everywhere. The cottage is tucked in a quiet West End neighborhood, close to a beach, restaurants, shops, etc. Perfect for 2 but it could easily sleep 4 (or 5 with the daybed).

This is their first season, so there is still some availability. If you have any of the open weeks available, grab one...you won't be sorry.

We LOVED having time in this cozy cottage as Ptown begins to open up for the season. The location is perfect, the bed was very comfortable, the owner, Natalie, was easy and kind in communications, and the neighborhood could be written about in storybooks. Classic Cape in every way. Can't wait to spend more time at this gem!

We're Rhode Islanders. Natalie's an art historian and swimmer. Steve is a stair designer and biker. We've done quite a bit of travel and appreciate living like locals no matter where we are. The more untouched the better--places, spaces, cooking. Hit us up--we love helping make vacations memorable.

What is special about this property?
LOCATION, HISTORIC CHARM and NATURAL BEAUTY. The Cottage is a rare find in its authenticity, sunlit spaces, updated features and nestled patio garden at the foot of Telegraph Hill. We're 680 sf of perfectly laid out spaces to allow a single to bliss out, a couple to frolic or a small group to make memories. The master bedroom is a highlight--spacious enough for a day bed, with the convenience of the full bathroom. Having a parking space on a private street is a privilege in town--easy in/easy out!

What is special about your town?
PTown is known for our natural beauty, art and parties. A perfect day in the West End is lunch poolside at the PTown Inn and then Tea Dance at the Boatslip, both in the West End, for a BLAST-of-a-day before night even hits! Adventure into the natural beauty of PTown and surrounds: swim in the harbor at the end of the street, or in the Truro kettle ponds; read at the spectacular Race Point beach and watch the seals dip and bob, or bike for MILES in the dunes and through town. (We have two ''town'' bikes for guests to enjoy!) You can also finish the day with a fire after sunset at Herring Cove, under the biggest sky on the Atlantic! On another day you can easily make a day of visiting art galleries and studios amongst the retail shops on the whole East End! Spectating architecture and gardens alone is a big draw for design lovers.

All the cool kids love PTown ;) You can be whoever you are or want to become here -- freedom and acceptance is taken seriously and the streets, day and night, are a live theater like no other in the country.

And if you know PTown, you know how beloved Atwood Ave is -- we are a gravel road inside of a gorgeous neighborhood of lanes that are great to walk with a cup of coffee or a cocktail. Walking to the harbor for sunrise or watching the sunset at the Jetty to Long Point before dinner at The Red Inn is as American as walking the Brooklyn Bridge. Atwood Cottage is more than a place to lay your body; it's access to the heart of extraordinary beauty.
