Our beloved, secluded 1880's summer house has been in our family since 1923. Many generations have spent wonderful summers here where time slows down and allows you to connect with beautiful Buzzards Bay and the beach and woods. The house is located just above the beach between the Cape Cod Canal and Little Harbor. On a clear day you can see the Elizabeth Islands and Martha's Vineyard.

The beach is about 30 yards from the ocean view porch. There is a boat ramp and a mooring for small boats and kayaks are available for paddling to Little Harbor's marshes or the Sand Spit bordering the Canal. There is an informal garden with a gazebo behind the house. The property's 5 plus acres include a clay tennis court. Little Harbor Golf course is 1/2 mile, at the end of Green Gate Lane and Audubon's Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary is also 1/2 mile with trails covering approximately 300 acres.

The Town of Wareham is home to the Wareham Gatemen, the 2018 champions of the Cape Cod Baseball League. For shopping and entertainment there is Wareham Crossing, Cranberry Highway with many seasonal and retail businesses, ie. Water Wizz and Cartland, and grocery stores is @ 4 miles away either toward Marion on Rte 6 or Cranberry Highway toward the Cape. Cape Cod is about 25 minutes away as is the historic city of New Bedford home of the world's largest whaling museum.

Our 'old fashioned' grey clapboard house has a seaside porch with two seating areas. There is a gas grill on the back patio by the kitchen door. The first floor has a living room, den, dining room, kitchen, two pantries, front and back halls, a laundry 'catch all' room and a half bath off the kitchen. The stairs have low risers and a mid way landing. The second floor has 6 bedrooms, 3 in the front hall, 3 in the back hall plus back stairs and 3 bathrooms. Carpeted stairs to the third floor lead to 3 bedrooms including a dorm room with 2 double beds, 1 twin and additional cots.

We live in our house during late fall and winter and will be staying next door for any renter concerns or questions. read more show less
