Great location with very accommodating owners

Had a good feeling about this location so took our chances. Was pleasantly surprised. Cute boathouse that has beautiful views and a great location. Owners are very involved and accommodating, even offering eggs and extra fans for our very hot stay. Nice to be able to walk to a quiet beach, not drive. Close to shops, restaurants, Walmart, and everything in between. Enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you, Sue and Gary!

Thank you so much for the sterling review! It was a pleasure to have you come. We should give you 5 stars for being such good troopers during an unusually hot period. We’ve never had a summer like this past one in my memory. Too bad you can’t come back for a Fall break as the weather has been great (most of the time) and the water is still perfect for swimming!

Have an easy winter ahead. Hope to see you next summer.

Best wishes,

Home Away from Home

As traveling healthcare professionals, we found the boathouse to be the perfect winter retreat while we worked on contract at the local hospital. How fortunate we felt to see such beautiful sunsets over the harbor from the warmth of the indoors during the cold winter months. Conveniently located near the Knob Trail, Long Pond Trail, the Shining Sea Bikeway, and the downtowns of both Falmouth and Woods Hole, there was no shortage of things to do or see. Sue and Gary were wonderful hosts, always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. We are beyond satisfied with our extended stay at the boathouse and hope to return in the future! show more show less

Dear Jessica and Ryan- Thanks so much for your beautiful review! We’re so delighted you were our tenants from October to April and could enjoy both the Cape’s Fall beauty and also had the hardiness to enjoy what became a tough and unusual winter as well! Besides wedding planning, you even found time for some colorful New England skiing plus several trips back to your home town in Ohio as well! Our hats are off to you along with best wishes for a wonderful wedding time and a great year ahead! Come back and visit! Sue & Gary

We love the boathouse!!!

We spent a gorgeous week at the Boathouse with our two daughters--one is 3 years old and the other just 3 months. My husband and I had also stayed here with our older daughter when she was only 3 months, and we cherished the memories of looking out through the glass sliding doors at the breathtakingly beautiful Quissett Harbor. We were so happy to be back--just as lovely as we remembered! We were thrilled to discover that not only was the house clean and well-kept, as always, it contained a "secret" stash of toys (that my 3yo daughter promptly located within the first 5min of arrival), including both things for older children (a dollhouse, some art supplies, books, plus sand buckets/toys that Sue dropped by the house on the first day) AND several baby toys that my 3mo absolutely adored! Sue and Gary were very gracious hosts. They delivered a pack-n-play crib as well as a highchair to the house before our arrival so that we would not need to lug these things. We also greatly appreciated their flexibility in helping us arrange to stay an 8th night so that we could spend two full weekends on the Cape. show more show less

Lovely setting, perfectly equipped home

This house was just as advertised, small but well equipped and perfect for a family of four (with children ages 7 and 10) in a unique setting. The sunsets over The Knob were worth every penny. We rented paddle boards from a local company and went out daily from the boathouse, paddling over to the beach across the harbor to swim. The bedrooms were small but neat. The kitchen had everything you could want. Moreover, the owners were the perfect blend of friendly and helpful and leaving you to enjoy your vacation. The location was great, too - you could jog down sidewalks to the bike trail and it was a quick car trip to both Falmouth Center and Woods Hole. Mostly we loved the house just to sit on the deck and watch the boats in the harbor. show more show less

Glad you had such a lovely week-great combination of activities and relaxation too; so needed I'm sure prior to your move out of state.

Wishing you good luck with all and hoping to see you for more than a week next summer!

We were very happy with our stay here. The Boathouse was clean and incredibly well-equipped with kitchen necessities, washer and dryer, linens, etc. A beautiful sunset spot every night. The owners were wonderful to interact with. We would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Great Cape Cod Getaway by the Bay

We had the pleasure of spending a week at this lovely and comfortable cottage the week of the 4th of July. We loved the location, the great view from the deck, and the proximity to a great little beach, which we really enjoyed, and to all the activities that this great little town of Falmouth has to offer.

The owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful The house is all that was advertised, and we certainly will be back in the future. We strongly recommend this lovely Boathouse, and hope that you do too. show more show less

Fabulous vacation house

The boathouse is the perfect summer vacation place for our family. We had a fabulous week - really loved paddle boarding and sailing in the harbor. We stored our two paddle boards at the lower level of the house, and it’s so convenient to put them in water. The boathouse has terrific water views. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the porch watching sail boats coming and leaving the harbor. The house is also very conveniently located (5 min to Woods Hole and Falmouth), and the kitchen is very well equipped. show more show less

Perfect Stay

We stayed one week in June 2016. It was an incredibly beautiful location, the house was in the best shape, everything worked well, nice details (like coffee and tea machine, infrared ceiling heat in bathroom, very comfortable bed and so on). The owners, Sue and Gary, were great, a lot of tips and perfect explanation about the house. We will come back again for the unbelievably nice and calm terrace to relax and refill our batteries.

Lovely!

We stayed at the Boathouse for a week in early summer, and everything was wonderful and as described. It is perfectly situated for walks, swims, kayaking, and bicycle trips, and we loved exploring the shops and restaurants of near-by Woods Hole and Falmouth. It was so relaxing to watch the constantly changing harbor from the deck, and we arranged a sailing lesson at the adjacent small marina. Sue and Gary were readily available with helpful suggestions and minor concerns. What a gem!

The wonderful reviews really speak about us well. We are very caring about our wonderful Boathouse, waterfront property at Quissett Harbor. We very much like to know and to listen to our guests and their needs.

We bought this 3 A. property on which the Boathouse sits about 23 years ago and pride ourselves on its beauty, quiet location, and spectacular views. It is our hidden treasure for easy living whether our guests are bikers, windsurfers, boaters, runners, photographers, painters, or just there for a good rest and good dining both in Falmouth and nearby woods Hole. Our guests often have children who enjoy the water sports and other activites in the larger Cape setting. We are on the spot in the summer to enjoy our Main House and to oversee any needs of our guests. Come to the Boathouse and enjoy! Sue and Gary

What is special about this property?
If you read the reviews you'll get a good sense of how other people have enjoyed the Boathouse. It has a clean, open interior plan with plenty of room to park your bikes, surfboards, hang your bathing suits, and greet your own guests.

The ongoing view of sail boats from the deck is a moving, quietly enchanting scene, and the automatic awning over the deck allows for outdoor dining even when the sun is out in full swing or there are rain drops falling around you.

The amenities are complete including upgraded appliances-W/D, electric oven, coffeemaker, toaster, outdoor gas grill, even an iron and ironing board. Linens are provided unless you'd like to bring your own. There is a Queen sleep sofa for a 3d child or overnight guest as well. If you're working or staying around, we have the internet and Cable TV online for you.

What is special about your town?
Long before knowing Falmouth, we thought it was just another Cape town to pass through. But Falmouth has everything for shops, restaurants, even a fabulous hardware store, gift shops, art stores, and a super bike shop for rentals and repairs. The clothing stores go from Black Dog to top dog, plus three Super supermarkets -regular to gourmet, and a Marine Store for boating equipment. Catch summer theater at the College Light Opera (CLOC) and next to it enjoy beautiful, restored Highfield Hall and Gardens. Spend lunch with the llamas and farm animals while picking or eating organic fruits and vegetables at nearby Coonamessett Farm.

Falmouth is wooded and beachy at the same time. You can take a long walk or bike trip along the ocean on the 20 mile (round trip) bike path, or enjoy windsurfing at Racing Beach a mile away. You can easily bike to Woods Hole,Falmouth's sister town, home of the world class research center, MBL (Marine Biological Laboratories) with its wonderful small aquarium open to all.. There are occasional plays, film festival weeks, on the water restaurants, great coffee, sandwich, and ice cream shops there.
