Wonderful, modern retreat located on the end of a private drive. Lush blueberry bushes line the drive which opens up to a beautiful yard and meadow surrounded by stone walls and trees, the house is located at the far side of the property up on a high point.

The home is a large, open and sun filled 4 bedroom, 3 bath home with three levels and multiple decks. It is a beach friendly home with linoleum and vinyl floors throughout. The house has multiple levels and many stairs. The raised dining area has a loose rope balustrade.

The welcoming top floor is a wide open living space with soaring cathedral ceilings, a raised dining area and kitchen are reached by three additional steps. The living room has large glass windows and sliding glass doors on two sides for views of the lighthouse, partial ocean views and lush tree tops. The raised dining area has a table that extends to comfortably sit 8 and looks out over the living area. The dining area opens up to a large deck that is perfect for grilling, eating at the outdoor table or bird watching among the treetops.

The large comfortable living room has multiple sitting areas to gather with family and friends. The window seat is a great place to read, nap or watch a storm pass off the end of the island. There is also a deck off the living room that looks out over the front of the house and yard. The kitchen is a well appointed space filled with every gadget a cook could want, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, lobster pot, rice cooker, ice cream maker, Cuisinart, blender, fish steamer, and dishwasher. A third deck off the side of the house has a staircase that brings you down to the second floor deck, then down to the front of the house and the parking area.

A bedroom with a full size bed, views of the lighthouse and partial ocean views and a full bath with shower round off the top floor.

The second level has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and one with two twin beds, a full bathroom with tub and a separate area with washer and dryer. There is a deck off the second floor that can be accessed from the front or side of the house. The deck has an open outdoor shower that is a great place to rinse off the salt and sand after a day at the beach.

The first floor hosts a comfortable second living room with a couch, two armchairs and a daybed. This lower area also has a second refrigerator and a table with four chairs. There is a large bedroom with cathedral ceilings and a queen size bed and a full bathroom with a shower.

The Gay Head/Aquinnah area is known as the most ecologically preserved, least populated and most peaceful part of Martha's Vineyard. It is away from the hustle, bustle and traffic of the ''down island'' towns of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown.

The Aquinnah Cliffs are a short walk or car ride from the house. At the Cliffs you will find a couple of restaurants, a general store, and several stores with local gifts and souvenirs. The beautiful Gay Head lighthouse looks out over the cliffs and is open to the public. There are wonderful views from the top. (½ mile from house)
We are conveniently located to the spectacular beaches of Aquinnah including Moshup Beach (public parking available, 1 mile) and Philbin Beach (1.3 mile) (parking permit available at the town clerk with rental agreement) Losterville (3 miles) and Red Beach (3.5 miles). These beaches are less crowded and a great place to relax with the family.

We do not provide bed linens or towels, bring your own or we can refer a linen rental service that will deliver and pick up from the house. We do provide pillows, blankets, bedspreads and kitchen towels.

    Serene Getaway

    Great place for family retreat.
    Plenty of space for all but also areas to be off by yourself.
    The home is clean and well ventilated but not so fancy I am was afraid my kids would break things.
    Lots of peace and quiet - haven't slept this well in years!

    Wonderful Home in Aquinnah

    Lovely home with spacious rooms and a large yard. Upstairs living area is airy and with many windows. Light breezes, southwest and west exposures from different decks. Short drive to beach, lighthouse and surrounding restaurants and small shops. Quiet area. Great for families. We loved our stay!
