Situated on a half-acre of land at the end of a quarter-mile private driveway, 25 and 23 Doctor's Creek Path are classic Martha's Vineyard beach houses, perfect for big family gatherings, long days by the ocean, and relaxing evenings around the dinner table.

The journey from the main house to the island's best beach takes about three minutes. Stroll down a private, sun-dappled path, then wade, kayak or canoe across the narrowest part of Chilmark Pond, and you'll find yourself on a pristine, residents-only beach that's never crowded, even at the height of summer. Or stay in one of our boats (we have a fleet!) a little longer and explore the pond, which stretches for half a mile in either direction, and commune with the swans and ducks who will be your only company.

Back at the property, you can take an outdoor shower at either house; at 25 Doctor's Creek Path, all four bedrooms open up onto the sunset-facing deck where the shower is located. You'll also find a fully-equipped eat-in kitchen, and a dramatic, light-filled, high-ceilinged dining room/living room with a table that seats fourteen. Built-in bookshelves are stocked with books and games; comfortable, easy chairs and a large sofa are perfect for chatting or watching a movie. Outside, a large ocean-facing deck, with lounge chairs and a hammock, is a perfect place for a morning coffee or a post-beach cocktail.

This house was built for entertaining; the bedrooms are all located along a hallway that can be closed off from the common areas of the house, providing quiet and privacy for sleeping kids (or adults!) even if a big dinner is in full swing. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, a king bed with organic mattress (all our mattresses are organic), and a large writing desk overlooking the lawn and flower garden. Walls of windows let in the light and the blue skies; new blinds block them out if you want to sleep in.

The main house sleeps eight, with a king bed, a queen bed, and two rooms furnished with two twins beds each. With high-speed internet and built-in desks in each room, you can easily slip off and take a meeting... if you absolutely have to.

Fifty feet away, across an expanse of lawn and tucked behind a stand of hydrangea bushes, with total privacy from 25 Doctor's Creek Path, is the guest house, 23 Doctor's Creek Path. This three-bedroom bungalow sleeps six, with a king bed in the main bedroom (which also features an en-suite half-bathroom) a queen bed, and a pair of twins. A full kitchen with a dining table that seats six, a cozy living room, a full bathroom and a large deck complete the house.

This property is ideal for a large family or group of friends, or two families who want to vacation together but also maintain some privacy and autonomy. They houses have been lovingly updated and maintained, with new washer/dryers and dishwashers in both houses, new decking, and other amenities – but fundamentally, this is a classic Vineyard ''camp,'' and the most unique and wonderful thing about this property is the location. You simply cannot be closer to the beach than this – and this beach happens to be spectacular. The property is tranquil and private, full of little surprises – the blackberries growing along the beach path, the clusters of Concord grapes dangling from their arbors, the secluded benches and Adirondack chairs tucked away in hidden corners, the bunnies who hop across the lawn all day.

We're a five minute drive from the Chilmark Library, Chilmark Community Center, and the Chilmark General Store in one direction, and five minutes from Alley's General Store, the West Tisbury Library, the Yoga Barn, and Grey Barn Bakery & Farm in the other. The beaches, shops, and fish markets of Menemsha are ten minutes away, and the up-island towns of Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs, and Edgartown are no more than twenty-five.
