Built in 1870, this large, historic family home has plenty of character and space to spread out. The house has been updated and renovated over the years, but we want guests to know what to expect: this is a 150+ year-old home, not a newly renovated luxury property. There is some older carpeting, and two of the four bathrooms are still on our renovation list. We also do not have central air conditioning, but every bedroom has a window air conditioner.

One of our favorite features of the house is the grand wrap-around front porch—perfect for morning coffee, reading, or relaxing after the beach. For more privacy, head to the large enclosed bluestone patio in the back of the house.<br />

The patio is designed for summer living, with a built-in stainless-steel grill, refrigerator, sink and bar counter. Two large teak tables provide seating for 14, making it a great place for family dinners and long summer evenings outside.<br />

After the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower before settling in for the evening. The beach is only about a five-minute walk from the house, just down the street and across Waban Park.<br />

The house is also within walking distance of downtown Oak Bluffs, so you can leave the car behind and walk to restaurants, shops, the harbor and other attractions.<br />

We continue to make improvements to the property each year while maintaining the character of this historic Vineyard home. We are also nearby—just four blocks away—and available to address any issues that may arise during your stay.<br />
