This airy home captures the spirit of easy island life and makes you feel like you've gotten away. It's secluded on a quiet, wooded, paved, dead-end street, the second house from the end. Yet it's centrally located in the East Chop area of Oak Bluffs for easy access to the beaches (.25 miles to Eastville beach), towns, ferries, bike paths and East Chop lighthouse.

With soaring cathedral ceilings and open floor plan, an expansive deck, and the comforts of home (many extras for kids), this house is the perfect relaxing retreat for families and friends. It also boasts strong wifi, cable and smart TVs, a recently renovated kitchen with new appliances, counters/cabinets and layout, and a newly furnished living room.

The house is conveniently designed with one bedroom (queen) and a full bath downstairs, and two bedrooms and a bath upstairs. One upstairs bedroom can easily be used as a secondary home office, playroom or family room. It has a full futon bed (in addition to two twins) and smart TV. The downstairs bedroom also has a smart TV. There is a washer in the laundry/entry room and several drying lines and racks for drying. There are fans in all the bedrooms and a ceiling fan in the dining/living room. The house is situated on the top of the bluff and surrounded by trees, and benefits from great breezes which cool it. In addition to great outdoor living space, the house features an awesome hot/cold outside shower and changing room, and plenty of room for multiple cars to park.

The paved street gets very little traffic and is great for biking, scootering, and playing. There are fantastic walks right from the house where you never pass a person, and you are at shore's edge along picturesque East Chop Drive within minutes.

Martha's Vineyard is only a short ferry ride from the mainland and yet you truly feel as if you've escaped when you land on the Island. On the other hand, to many people's surprise, it has over 100 square miles of varied landscape and attractions. There's lots to do...and nothing to have to do. This house is situated with access to everything - walking distance to the beach, the lighthouse, Oak Bluffs with the carousel, amusement room, movies, Circuit Ave shopping; biking or driving distance to a whole lot more.

    Oak Bluffs

    The cottage is located just a short walk or quick bike ride into town. The location is perfect. The home is well equipped and decorated. It is on a quiet dead end street which is perfect if you are travelling with children or pets. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend it to all wanting to spend some time on the Vineyard. We enjoyed the beaches, bike riding, eating out and ice cream!

    We love staying here! 17 years and counting...

    We love staying at Liz and Steve's beautiful Vineyard house. Our family of four feels that it's our special place on the Vineyard and have been renting it for (unbelievable) 17 years! They've continually improved the home in small and large ways and we always feel comfortable and carefree when we're there. The master bedroom is the most private and the two rooms upstairs have an open ceiling set-up so they are less private, but we've always managed that perfectly well so far.

    We love that we can hop on our bikes and be at the beautiful Eastville Beach in less than 10 minutes or bike over to State Beach so easily. And it's convenient to any stores and grocery shopping in either Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs. And walking leisurely on East Chop Road to take in the ocean views and see the gorgeous homes there, right down the street, is just dreamy!

    Our kids (now 25) also feel like it's "their place" on the Vineyard. It's been a part of their childhood and growing experience for two weeks every summer for countless years. We always find it sparkling clean and ready for us at our arrival and we take good care of it while we're there. It's a joy to do so.

    Comfortable Well Situated Island Home

    The house is very well situated for a variety of awesome adventures. We did bike rides, beach days, up island excursions, quick visits to the town center for shopping or an ice cream, and way more.

    The place was so comfortable that it felt more like home than just our home base. We never felt like rushing out the door to do stuff, yet still had an action-packed week. Having digs that are comfortable and convenient makes a huge difference and this place nails it.

    Amazing place!!

    We have rented this lovely spot for the past few years. It is centrally located, clean and well equipped with everything that you may need for a beautiful vacation on the Vineyard. The deck and outdoor shower are favorites. The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable with very responsive owners. Always a great time!

    Lovely home for family vacation

    This house has been a vacation spot for our family for the past 5 years - grandkids and all!
    There are three bedrooms, a shared comfortable living room and open kitchen.The house is spacious and welcoming with a big outdoor wrap around deck. The house is also well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils and cabinet space for cooking and grilling delicious meals at home. The location is fantastic - right between Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven.

    We've been renting out our beach house since we bought it in 1995. We were young and people thought we were crazy for buying a second house but we have never regretted it for a minute. Martha's Vineyard is our favorite place to be and we make sure to spend time every year in our house. Because of that, we hope that we offer a home that is very livable and set up with anything you would need to enjoy a wonderful vacation there. We have been careful not to clutter the house with personal items, however, so that you can move in and not feel as if you were living in someone else's house. Most of our renters are repeat renters (most have been coming for over 10 years) and we love that at this point they feel that this is also 'their' house. We hope you'll feel that way, too.
