AIR CONDITIONED, with NEWLY RENOVATED BATHROOMS and located just 1.5 miles from the center of Oak Bluffs, this lovely Cape style home is roomy and welcoming with over 3000 sq ft. Originally built in 1987 with substantial renovations in 2013 and 2022, our spacious summer residence offers three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a sizeable den in the main house, in addition to an attached studio apartment that comfortably sleeps up to four. In 2022, two of the main home bathrooms were considerably updated. In addition, a 4-zone heating and air system was installed removing all window units! The studio apartment has its own dining alcove, eat-in kitchen and full bathroom. This studio apartment has access from inside the home as well as its own private entrance. In total, there are four sleeping areas and four full bathrooms. Did we mention the house is spacious?
The main house has an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area, separate family room (den), bright sunroom, and plenty of outdoor space, ideal for active friends and/or family. Our allergen friendly home has hardwood floors throughout with a few area rugs in the bedrooms. The kitchen has plenty of cookware and stainless-steel appliances, including a coffee maker, blender, dishwasher and built-in microwave. The dining area table can easily accommodate six to ten guests (note, the table has expandable leaves), which is perfect for family game night. This home is equipped with high-speed internet and the home provides YouTube TV, Netflix and Discovery+ streaming services.
The first floor has one large master suite with a queen-sized bed, an antique dresser, ample closet space, two nightstands with a fully renovated master bathroom with a huge stand-up shower including two shower heads. The second floor has two bedrooms and the second fully renovated bathroom. One room has a queen-sized bed, a dresser, a nightstand, large closet and ceiling fan. The other bedroom is furnished with two twin beds, a shared antique dresser, large closet, wall mirror and ceiling fan.
Between the main house and the apartment, there is a large mudroom near the side door with a tiled floor, perfect for dropping sandy flip flops and wet towels. The mudroom leads to a large family room (den) that has the second large screen television. The 2nd floor apartment can also be accessed from the den, as well. Although we don't count this as an official bedroom, it is furnished with a full-sized sofa sleeper and chair with a twin pullout. The third full bathroom is located next to the mudroom and den.
As previously mentioned, the home has been updated to provide year-round heating and air! In addition, the home offers large ceiling fans and the double patio doors, and windows allow for a nice breeze. The quaint and bright sunroom, which is located just off the kitchen, has stone tiled flooring and is furnished with a comfy couch, ottoman, end tables and a ceiling fan. From here, you can access the backyard which has a barbecue area furnished with a six-seat patio table with an umbrella and chairs, hammock, outside shower, volleyball area and basketball court.
The fourth (official) sleeping area, the attached studio apartment, can be accessed from the house but also has a separate entrance. It is very large with a queen-sized bed, queen sleeper sofa, internet streaming television (Netflix, YouTube TV, Discovery+), separate eat-in kitchen with major appliances (including a microwave, coffee maker, and blender), dining alcove, and private bathroom with a stand-up shower.
The property sits on half an acre, and comfortably sleeps 10 with the possibility of accommodating more. This home is perfect for family vacations, small gatherings with friends and even accommodating the bridal party or housing your wedding guests! You will absolutely love the central location of this home. The Lagoon Pond is a short walk and offers some of the best sunsets on the island and is a great entry point for kayakers and clammers. Several beaches, the towns of Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, and Farm Neck and Mink Meadows golf courses are all less than a 10-minute drive, and the bike trail is about a half mile down the road. Come fall in love! This house rents from Saturday to Saturday with check-in at 3 pm and check-out at 10 am.
