Description

Description

You will find this five bedroom Victorian quite charming with its bright and cheery interior. We've recently painted the interior, completely refurnished the entire house including new beds and mattresses, and added mini-splits to provide air conditioning to just about all the bedrooms and living room.

The house is located right across from wide open Waban Park, you can enjoy flying a kite or throwing a frisbee. Then grab your beach towel for a swim in the water in Inkwell Beach just a block up the road. This desirable location is close to everything, including the ferry, Circuit Ave shops and restaurants, the Gingerbread Houses and Tabernacle, the bike path and the bus route.

The first floor has a spacious comfy living room with a TV, large couch, a puzzle table, and a cabinet full of board games and puzzles. Off of the living room is a dining room with beautiful built in cabinets and a large dining table that can seat 9. There's a kitchen fully stocked with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, blender, toaster and everything you could need. Off of the living room and kitchen is the Whale room - a bedroom with a newly laid floor that's full of windows and has a day bed and pull-out. All the way in the back is the large pantry area with a mini-fridge, a room with a washer/dryer, and a half bathroom.

Up the stairs on the second floor are several bedrooms. There's the Turtle room and the Coral room, both of which have a king bed and two closets. Accessible from either room is a beautiful upper deck with two new adirondack chairs overlooking the park. Down the hallway is the Gingerbread room, which has two twin beds and is decorated with pictures of Oak Bluff's famous Gingerbread houses. Further down the hall is the Sand Dollar room, which has a queen bed and views out on the trees behind the house. Across from the Sand Dollar room is a small library that has an oversized chair that converts to a twin bed. At the very end of the hall is a full bathroom

Outside, there's a wraparound porch with views either into the park or the side yard. The side yard has a brick patio with a dining table that seats 8 and a grill. Around the back of the house is a clothesline and an outdoor shower with terrific water pressure. We also provide several lawn games and sports equipment - bocce ball, croquet, cornhole, tennis rackets, basketballs and more games for the family to enjoy themselves.

    Great Family Vacation

My family and I will be returning to this house for our 4th summer and we can't wait! The house is great for a multi-generational family vacation and has plenty of very comfortable beds. The garage is stocked with lawn games, beach chairs and umbrellas. The outdoor shower and upstairs bathroom were updated last year. The house is in an excellent location with easy street parking, walkable to the playground, beach, Oak Bluff Ferries, and downtown Oak Bluffs. It's very easy to walk the kids into town for an after-dinner ice cream and carousel ride. The kitchen is well-stocked and spacious so many people can be working in there at once. The house has a nice sized dining room for family dinners. The front porch is perfect for coffee in the morning, and cocktails at night. Every time I've been, the house is very clean upon arrival and Kristen and Ethan are available for any questions about the house. The house embodies Oak Bluffs charm while providing spacious living and modern conveniences (updated air conditioning!). show more show less

    Great house, great location

Fabulous house! We had a great stay. The house is very comfortable. The porch is fantastic! The bathroom is a little old, but functional. The location is amazing only a few blocks from the center of Oak Bluffs, but not in the middle of it all so it is quiet. Only 1 block from the beach and 2 blocks from the bike bath to Edgartown! The yard is a little small but there is a great park across the street and another around the corner. The house is well stocked with games. And the kitchen has everything you need. The owners were a pleasure to work with.. we really enjoyed our stay here, it was perfect place for a getaway! show more show less

    Great Vacation!

This house was beautiful, clean and very comfortable for our family of 5. Everyone had their own bedroom, the kitchen was spacious and easy to cook in with easy access to the outside grill. Enjoyed coffee on the porch every morning overlooking the park. Easy short walk to Inkwell Beach at the end of the street for fun beach days and night strolls. We enjoyed bike rides into town for shopping and restaurants and on the paths along the water. Our hosts Ethan & Kristen were great and always available for any questions we had. We would definitely stay in their Martha's Vineyard home again! show more show less

Ethan and Kristen currently live in Seattle with our 5 year old pup Franklin and our 4 month old daughter, Madeline. Kristen's been coming to Oak Bluffs every summer with her family for 23 years, and brought Ethan after they met in college. Ethan loved it so much it was where he proposed to her. We've been happily married for 4 years.

What is special about this property?
The location is terrific! Right across the street from Waban park, which is a giant grassy space to play soccer or hit a golf ball. It's only 3 blocks from Inkwell beach, which has lovely warm water. It's also really easy to walk the 6 or so blocks to downtown Oak Bluffs to get ice cream or go shopping.

The property has been updated with all the amenities that a vacationer could want including AC and heat, modern WiFi and a wonderful kitchens that comes fully equipped. The side yard has a patio where you can sit at the outdoor table and grill.

What is special about your town?
Oak Bluffs is liveliest of the Vineyard's towns – more high-spirited than haute. From the colorful gingerbread cottages to the Flying Horses carousel, from Ocean park to harbor bars, Oak Bluffs delivers on fun.

When you're in Oak Bluffs, don't miss:
    - The gingerbread cottages (officially known as the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association and informally known as The Campground) these whimsical cottages were built in the second half of the 1800's and are iconic to Martha's Vineyard. Stop by the Cottage City Museum for a glimpse into history.
    - Picturesque Ocean Park with its historic gazebo (great for kite-flying!)
    - Flying Horses Carousel is the oldest continuous carousel in the United States! Kids of all ages can hop on a steed and try to catch the gold ring!
    - Oak Bluffs Harbor is boarded by restaurants and bars on one side, you'll also find fishing charters and water sports for everyone from novice to expert.
    - Walk the North Bluff seawall, and cast your rod from the beautiful, and wheelchair accessible, fishing pier.
    - When you just have to hit the beach, beautiful walking and family-friendly swimming can be found at Inkwell and State Beach.
    - Don't miss all the shops, restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops in the town center
    - Just outside of the Town center, enjoy Island Alpaca's silly and interactive herd or catch an exhibition, reading or concert at Featherstone Center for the Arts.
