While we were looking forward to staying in this lovely home, we enjoyed our stay even more than we anticipated. Everything is exactly as shown in the pictures, if not even better. Although the house sits very close to the green, it was still quiet at night with good people watching during the day from either of the two porches. Everything, from the linens to the dishes and glassware, were of high quality and the decor was very tasteful. It was fun exploring all the nooks and crannies of this house. It's closeness to the restaurants, stores and shopping made for a very stressless vacation. Everything was extremely clean upon our arrival and it was hard to imagine that another party of guests had left only a few hours prior. The kitchen would be a chef's best dream and the beds were very comfortable. Nancy was very easy to work with and very responsive to any and all questions. My family and I vacationed on the Vineyard for a week this past June. Besides being back on the island, our happy place, what made this trip particularly special were the accommodations at this home. The house is meticulously maintained and landscaped and is ideally situated in the heart of Oak Bluffs - one block off Circuit Avenue. The views from the upper and lower balconies were perfect for morning coffee and evening sunsets. Union Chapel and Back Door Donuts were literally a few steps away out the back door. I have been a summer visitor on the Vineyard for over 50 years. I have never been in a home as wonderful as this one is. Most of my experience has been "up-island", and I initially had some reservations about the bustle of Oak Bluffs, which dissipated immediately upon arrival.

The small front yard is beautifully landscaped and the dark rose hydrangeas bordering the porch were sensational. With several dozen immaculately maintained "cottages" along ocean park, with each sporting front porches where people were drinking their morning coffee, sharing a late afternoon cocktail, and waving at neighbors, this spot has the feel of a warm 19th century village.

Approaching the home from the back alley, where there are two full sized parking spaces, one enters into a large brick patio area, with a large grill, outside shower, and two large tables. Both the parking area and the patio are also beautifully kept and landscaped. The large communal lawns in front of the house and the larger lawns surrounding the gazebo are both restful and perfect for children.

The home is perfect for entertaining and multi generational family groups. Two dishwashers! A kitchen that left our chef friend in tears of joy. The bedrooms are simple and comfortable. The living space on the first floor is expansive, casual, and immensely inviting.

The pictures do not do this property justice. Every detail is meticulous and thought through practically.

We have rented homes in Martha's Vineyard for eight years, and this is definitely the nicest home we have ever rented as far as the combination of a central location, that special Vineyard home feel, and modern amenities and space.

The living space at the back is substantial with finished floors, comfortable furniture and a big television for relaxing in the evenings. There are two dining tables with umbrellas outdoors by the grill, and another two dining tables indoors. There is central AC and modern bathrooms for every room -- even the outdoor shower has a new shower head. The kitchen is large and has every amenity you could need.

The spacious porches overlook Ocean Park and the beach, and the home is an easy stroll from the Oak Bluffs ferry and steps away from Circuit Avenue and Inkwell Beach. Reliable Market and Back Door Donuts are directly across the street.

Another family member who had stayed in a newly renovated home in another town on the Vineyard commented that this home managed to retain a special charm even with the modern amenities (unlike the place he stayed), and that's maybe the highest praise we could give this place. Our family felt pampered in this home and it made the Oak Bluffs and Vineyard experience that much more special.

Finally, Nancy is an exceptional host and responds in a very timely manner to questions and requests. We had to book this popular home on short notice, lucked into an opening and Nancy was very pleasant, flexible and highly responsive.

This house has everything you could want for a memorable vacation. Large enough to accommodate a group of people the house is impeccable. Lots of places to congregate with friends and families, and a lovely kitchen that we all thoroughly enjoyed, fully stocked with everything you will need. My favorite parts were the vicinity to Inkwell beach, the ferry for coming and going, and the VIEW at the front. Those morning sunrises were spectacular to watch from the large decks on either the main or top floor. So serene views and water views at the front to sit and enjoy and then the main downtown right out the backdoor to really enjoy easily and take advantage of the restaurants, stores and historic homes and beauty of the island.

So easy to get there and back as well. And if you bring a car, there's off street parking to make life really easy. We loved exploring the whole island with their beautiful beaches, warm water (OK, well, warm for Massachusetts) and plenty of historic sites, and fun places to eat and visit.

I hope to visit again and make more amazing memories. If you're looking for a great vacation stay--this is a great choice. show more show less

My siblings and I rented [this home] for a week in June as a gift to my parents on their 60th wedding anniversary. On arrival, three generations of very different personalities settled into the home easily. We each discovered great comfort, privacy, and many little delights in our own bedrooms/suites. As the week passed, we grew more and more to love the home. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, and the bedding and linens (and lighting) and amenities are top-notch.

The kitchen became the hive of the home, and what a beautiful space it is! As the sun sets in the west, that late afternoon sunlight pours down the back hallway and lights up the kitchen with a glowing, almost surreal light. I had to think a very clever architect planned that one.

The house's energy is beautiful, even magical. The pictures of it don't tell that story, but once there, you can feel it: It's a historic home of importance, but inside every detail has been thoughtfully modernized. The best of both worlds. Outside, the view is ever-changing and completely iconic. And the location was amazing. Each night, we walked the short block into the action for ice cream, the arcade, a walk by the boats, the campground, and more.

At the end of an incredible, memorable week that was both relaxing and inspiring, a photographer took a portrait of our family. The ones he took of my parents were, he said, the most favorite couples' portraits he had ever taken. The love and laughter on my parent's faces as they look at each other in that photo is an incredible sight. I can't help thinking that it was a week of magical living at [this home] that helped bring those feelings to life.
