My grandparents bought this house, ''Breezy Top'', in 1949. 18 of us cousins from my grandparents' 4 children grew up roaming East Chop each summer. Over the years, the extended family settled across East Chop, and now I enjoy Breezy Top with my husband and 3 young daughters. Summer 2021 was my first summer managing it as a rental property for part of the summer. My family and I also spend 5-6 weeks at the house every summer. We are attending to every detail, and hope you feel the true vibe of home as you nestle in for your vacation.

What is special about this property?
Over this past 1.5 years we have jumped in feet-first to bring the house into its next phase of life and beauty, and we are excited to be able to share it with others. This is the house where we feel we can truly relax - and exhale. It is quiet, airy, bright, and with so many different spaces to just be. And it's got so much character as a classic Martha's Vineyard cottage. It has all the original charm - lots of woodwork, ceiling beams (which are the floor joists above!), lots of built-ins, tons of windows, the stone fireplace (non-working), and amazing wrap-around porch.

We are just finishing a full custom kitchen renovation, as well as renovating 4 bathrooms (all on the second floor). We are adding a new washer/dryer in the 2nd floor hall bath, and there's another washer/dryer in the cellar. Other renovations include new interior and exterior paint, roofing, gutters and copper downspouts, and a redesigned garden (which features the 100-year old rose bushes!). There's new electrical wiring, lighting, plumbing, and some refinished floors.

It's a gathering spot, too, where we join with family and friends to grill, sip coffee or cocktails on the porch, and the kids run and bike freely. The large natural yard has a swing, tether ball, and lots of room to run (or play frisbee, catch, climb a tree - you name it).

What is special about your town?
Oak Bluffs is an incredibly vibrant town. It's packed with cafes and restaurants, shops, art, entertainment (movie theater, family arcade, bowling, and sing-alongs at the Tabernacle in the Campgrounds). In addition to watching boats come and go in the harbor, kids can take a Pirate Ship ride and kids and adults can go charter fishing, parasailing, jet skiing, and more. Some Sunday evenings you can enjoy''run-arounds'' to live music at the gazebo in Ocean Park, and by day it's the perfect place to fly a kite. And there are oh-so-many ice cream shops! There's also a Sunday Flea/Craft Market in the park by Our Market, at the edge of the harbor, where you can discover all sorts of treasures. From our house, you can bike into town in 5 minutes, or arrive in 15-20 by foot. The Town Park boasts an awesome large playground, basketball, tennis, and pickleball courts, as well.
