1870 Ginger Bread cottage on Oak Bluffs harbor for the best of both worlds…great views and relative privacy. Walk to everything in Oak Bluffs including ferries, restaurants, nightlife, Flying Horses merry-go-round, back door donuts, beaches, bus transit, and more.

Recently renovated kitchen, granite counters, mix of custom and antique cabinets, custom built-in dining bench & seats. House has an open floor plan, coveted on-site parking (if you even need to bring a vehicle), central air-conditioning, and a Weber gas grill. Bedrooms located upstairs: Front bedroom has a double/full bed, middle room has a queen and twin which is a walk-through to the rear bedroom with two twin beds overlooking the harbor.

We have porches in the front and back of the house for chill time. The field between the house and harbor is fabulous for throwing or kicking a ball, Wiffle-ball, bocce, corn-hole, or watching the sunset (check out the last picture). The outdoor shower is wonderful, especially upon returning from the beach.

Friendly neighborhood, old-fashioned ''campground'' rules apply including quiet hours 11 pm-8 am. Happy to answer questions or provide more information.

This property is part of the Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. Renters must observe quiet hours and other “Rules for Renters” located at the MVCMA website.

Sunday is normal turnover day. Depending on the week there is a small chance we can work out a different day. read more show less

    Perfect location!

    We had a wonderful week at Tight Squeeze! The location was absolutely perfect - walking distance from the harbor, Flying Horses, Circuit Ave., beaches… and the campground was beautiful and peaceful. Spent a lot of time on the back patio looking over the harbor and on the front porch talking to passersbys and rocking in the rocking chairs. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our visit. Overall a wonderful cottage for our family vacation.

    Great vacation!

    Great house, had everything needed and more. The attention to detail and recent renovations show how much the owner cares about the home. Loved sitting on both porches, amazing views from one and nice campground walkway from the other. Perfect location in the campground, easy to walk into town. Lou was very receptive and easy to work with and makes delicious homemade limoncello!

    Great location!

    The location doesn't get any better than this!! It made traveling with little kids so easy. We were walking distance to everything yet Wesleyan Grove is also nice and quiet at night! The owner was very attentive and easy to get in contact with. It can be difficult to find a house with AC, a parking spot and so close to town but this house has it all! Made for a great/easy family vacation!

    Quiet, quaint and a perfect vacation for our family. Owner had lots of wonderful suggestions for local activities and house was cozy and comfortable. Lou's homemade limoncello was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to a return visit.

    Great location in the middle of Oak Bluffs! Close to Harbor, shopping, beach, tabernacle. Wonderful host. House lives bigger than it looks with plenty of space to sit on the front and back porches. Back porch overlooks the water. Had all you need for a great vacation.

    Lifelong Island visitor to my grandmother's gingerbread cottage (aka ''Tight Squeeze'') since the 60's and more recently a year-round resident. The Vineyard is a special place and it is especially great to be able to see the ocean, be on the harbor, and able to walk to everything.

    What is special about this property?
    Even among gingerbread cottages this is a unique place in many ways. Of the 300+ houses in the ''campground'' only a dozen or so have harbor views. Most of those are right on the main road, while ''Tight Squeeze'' is set back buffered by a small field. Plus we have a front and a back porch (with the back facing the harbor!), where most of the others are back to back. It also helps to have great neighbors.
