This has been our family's cottage on East Chop since 2023, and it's the kind of house that quietly rearranges a vacation around itself — the screened porch at 7am with coffee, the outdoor shower after the beach, dinner under the arbor that runs long because nobody's in a hurry.

The house

Four bedrooms, two full baths, sleeps eight. On a quiet, tree-lined street.

The first floor holds the kitchen, dining room, family room, sitting room, laundry, and a newly renovated full bath with a shower. All four bedrooms and the second full bath are upstairs: a king, a queen, a double, and a bunk room with four twins that kids tend to claim immediately.

Air conditioning throughout, which matters more here than people expect — a lot of cottages this age don't have it.

Where you are

East Chop is the quiet side of Oak Bluffs: historic cottages, water views, and streets made for walking. From the door it's minutes to Jetty Beach, East Chop Lighthouse, and Oak Bluffs harbor, Circuit Avenue, Ocean Park, and the Flying Horses. The walk or ride along the bluff to the lighthouse is the best on this end of the island.<br /> <br /> Who it suits<br /> <br /> A single family, two families sharing, or three generations under one roof.
