Welcome to the Falu House, a European-inspired A-Frame cottage within walking distance of the Lagoon and Oak Bluffs town center!

This cozy home boasts two bedrooms and bathrooms; a perfect getaway for a memorable family vacation. Inspired by their European origins, the homeowners have recently renovated the cottage to create a comfortable, laid back vacation retreat. The home also has new air-conditioning units in the living and bedroom spaces, so you will stay comfortable during those warm summer days.

Let's give you a little tour of our home!

- Downstairs: The open-concept living area is ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring the island, and features a free-standing gas stove that provides warmth and coziness during cooler nights. A fully equipped kitchen and small dining area invite you to whip up and enjoy delicious meals for family and friends. The ground floor also features a bedroom with a queen bed, and a bathroom with a tub (note there is also an outdoor shower on the ground level - more on that below!).

- Upstairs: A spiral metal staircase takes you upstairs, where you will find another queen bed and a twin bed in a loft-style space, along with a full bathroom with shower.

- Outside: In the front of the home you will find a spacious deck overlooking the wooded and very private surroundings--the perfect spot to savor your morning coffee. Around the corner you will find a newly added side patio, with a charcoal BBQ grill, Adirondack chairs, and a cornhole board - the perfect place for an evening wind down under the stars! And let's not forget one of our favorite spots on property - what would a Vineyard visit be without using our charming and private outdoor shower!

Both bedrooms offer comfortable queen-sized beds with premium cotton sheets. The property provides linens and towels and is pet- and infant-friendly (we offer a travel crib, high chair, and baby bath upon request). We also provide beach gear, including beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas.

The property is a five-minute walk to Lagoon Pond where you can take a swim, launch a kayak or paddle board, or enjoy the sunset. The MV Sail Camp is also in walking distance. Oak Bluffs Town Center is a 20-minute walk or 4-minute drive. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, while still being close to all amenities as well as the ferry terminals in Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs.

    Home is adorable and quirky, with a lot of privacy. Very clean! Would recommend as a couple, or small family. Had a few encounters with skunks during the evening, very cute but def kept our distance.
    Really the only disappointment was 2 of 3 beach chairs are broken, so had to just use towels at beaches. [Owner note: I think they didn't see all the chairs - we have more than 3!]

    House was exactly what we needed, clean and free of clutter, location is great closed to town just one thing is that is no full bathroom downstairs in the master just half bathroom and a very small tub, it was fine for us but for a older person will be a problem.

    I have been renting homes in Martha's Vineyard for over 30 years, and my rental choice varies based on who, and how many people I am traveling with. However, this house proved to be my favorite and will, most likely, become my first choice. The location is spectacular! Starting with David... he and his team were so easy to work with, which I greatly appreciated! The house was set back from the road, allowing us to feel as we were in Maine and New Hampshire, yet walking distance to the center of town. The interior of the house was very unique, comfortable, and very clean! The kitchen was stocked, the mattresses were extremely comfortable, and the linens were nice (unusual for a rental).

    Beautiful home minutes away from Oak Bluffs center. Kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook and eat saved us a ton of money! Outdoor shower was a wonderful perk after beach days. Quiet neighborhood and private! Would book again in a heartbeat!

    We are Susanne and Syon, and have been coming to Martha's Vineyard every year since we met in 2013 in Cambridge, MA when in graduate school. We have a 3 year old daughter and two little dogs. Though we have since moved to PA, where we are both professors, our love of ''MV'' saw us purchase this property in 2024. We use it both as a rental and for our own family vacations - this is a home for us, not an ''asset,'' and we are happy to share it with you.

    What is special about this property?
    This is a unique property - one of the few A-frames on Martha's Vineyard. It is very private and in a natural, wooded setting, while being extremely close to much of what makes Martha's Vineyard great - the beaches and vibrant town of Oak Bluffs, as well as several beautiful preserves and nature areas, including Pecoy Point, Felix Neck, and Manuel F. Correllus State Forest. We love that it's also ''set in'' to the island a little bit, making it easier to reach other towns on island as well. The neighborhood has many year long residents, so it feels friendly and inviting - you can truly unwind here.

    What I really love about this place [this is Syon talking], is that Susanne has left a real mark on the property - she has spent many days and weeks on site restoring and designing spaces in the property herself - she is a jack of all trades, and has a terrific eye for interiors! So I love the fact that when I walk in, I am reminded of her skills and dedication to this beautiful home. The vibe of the place is sort of ''Scandanavia meets Maine,'' with some Martha's Vineyard quirks mixed in!

    What is special about your town?
    What is there not to like about Oak Bluffs, and Martha's Vineyard in general? OB is a diverse, relaxing town, with some of the best beaches you will ever see. Syon loves Back Door Donuts, Susie loves Ben & Bill's Chocolate Emporium, and our daughter cannot get enough of the Flying Horses Carousel! On the island more broadly, we love all the unbelievable nature preserves, and we love that every town has it's own unique feel and charm.
