Step into Vineyard history with a modern twist. This beautifully preserved gingerbread cottage sits in the peaceful Vineyard Highlands neighborhood of Oak Bluffs—just steps from Sunset Lake and a short walk to beaches, the ferry, and downtown.

Inside, the home blends vintage charm with modern comfort. The first floor features a bright living room, a cozy sitting area for reading or conversation, and a fully equipped kitchen that opens to a side porch—perfect for breakfast or lunch in the fresh ocean air. A farmhouse-style dining area comfortably seats six indoors, while a large picnic table on the back deck invites outdoor dinners under the stars. The deck overlooks a spacious yard with a fire pit—ideal for gathering after a day at the beach. The full bathroom is on the first floor with a tub/shower combo, and there’s also a refreshing outdoor shower for rinsing off sandy feet.

Upstairs, the front bedroom with a queen bed opens onto a private second-story porch—perfect for morning coffee or a sunset glass of wine. The other two bedrooms include one with a full-size bed and another with two twin beds, making the home ideal for families or small groups.

For Illumination Night and the Fireworks summer finale, there’s no need to park or fight traffic—just a 5-minute walk to the Campground and fireworks viewing around the corner at Sunset Park.

Located near the water, the cottage offers easy access to Ocean Park, Circuit Avenue’s shops and restaurants, the Flying Horses Carousel, and Inkwell Beach—all within a pleasant walk. After exploring, return to your peaceful retreat where the sea breeze drifts through the porches and the stars shine bright over Sunset Lake.

This home combines timeless Vineyard character with modern comforts—an inviting getaway close to everything that makes Oak Bluffs special.

Note: We do not supply linens. Guests are welcome to bring their own or rent them through Martha’s Linen Rental. Many of our guests have used their service and found it reliable and reasonably priced. The cottage includes 1 queen bed, 1 full bed, and 2 twin beds.

We love coming to the Vineyard, we do it often. We decided to switch things up this year and try something new. Very grateful that we did, we all felt comfortable and at home. House is clean and communication is excellent.

Amy has a wonderful house! It was well furnished with great AC and super cute porch. This was a fantastic property for a family wanting to have quietness but close to amenities as well. We will certainly stay there again!

Amy and Chris were great hosts! They responded to any questions we had immediately. Their home was perfect for a weekend away, only a 10 minute walk to downtown oak bluffs. We will definitely be back in the future.

Best weekend in Oak Bluffs! This place was beautiful, clean, and convenient. The host truly went above and beyond with communication and making sure we were comfortable. I didn't know much about OB when I nooked this, but was so pleasantly surprised by the location and convenience of the house. The outdoor shower, fire pit, and porches were icing on the cake. Can't wait to come back!

We are third- and fourth-generation wash-ashores who have cherished Martha's Vineyard for decades. This island is where our family gathers—sharing long summer days, evening porch talks, and time with friends that becomes part of our family story.

We are honored to be only the second owners of this cottage; the previous owner's family cared for it for nearly a century, and we feel a deep responsibility to preserve its history, warmth, and character.

We live right around the corner from the cottage and are on the island regularly, which means we can be responsive and available to our guests whenever needed. Our hope is that your stay here brings the same joy, relaxation, and connection that this home has offered to so many over the years.

What is special about this property?
Location, location, location is truly what makes this cottage exceptional—you can walk to everything Oak Bluffs has to offer. Beaches, ferries, the harbor, downtown shops, restaurants, Ocean Park, and the iconic gingerbread cottages are all just steps away, making it easy to enjoy the best of the Vineyard without ever getting in a car.

Our cottage itself is a classic example of the charming Methodist Campground style that Oak Bluffs is known for—full of character, history, and that unmistakable Vineyard magic. The home features multiple inviting porches that catch the island breeze and create perfect spots for morning coffee, evening conversations, or simply relaxing in the peaceful surroundings.

Another standout feature is the spacious backyard—an uncommon luxury in this area. It's ideal for family gatherings, yard games, outdoor dining, or unwinding in the shade after a day at the beach.
With its unbeatable location, rich history, unique architectural details, and welcoming outdoor spaces, this cottage truly embodies the spirit of Oak Bluffs and offers an unforgettable Vineyard stay.

What is special about your town?
Oak Bluffs is one of the most vibrant and beloved towns on Martha's Vineyard, known for its colorful gingerbread cottages, lively harbor, iconic Ocean Park, and warm, walkable atmosphere. It's where history and island energy meet—morning walks along the water, evening concerts at the bandstand, family-friendly beaches, and endless places to explore just steps from your door.

The town also hosts many of the island's most beloved annual traditions—and you can walk to all of them from the cottage.

In June, Harborfest kicks off summer with live music, great food, local artists, and vendors along the harbor. The Summer Solstice Celebration soon follows, an outdoor evening of poetry and music that welcomes the new season.

August brings two iconic events: the spectacular Oak Bluffs Fireworks over the harbor and Grand Illumination Night, when hundreds of lanterns light up the historic Campground cottages in one of the most magical evenings of the year.

In September, Tivoli Day closes out the season with an old-fashioned street festival filled with food, music, shops, and a wonderful community spirit.

From the Flying Horses Carousel to bustling harborfront restaurants, Oak Bluffs blends timeless charm with lively island fun. Staying here means you're close to everything—beaches, shops, dining, ferries, and parks—while still enjoying the cozy small-town coastal feel that makes Oak Bluffs special.
