A husband and wife own this property. The husband grew up summers on East Chop his whole life. The wife started to come in college and lived in Aquinnah (at the time Gay Head). They both worked on the island and met here. They were married on the island and have three grown children who come here every summer and have worked on the island every summer. They bought the Bowen College in 2021 after selling the home that the husband grew up in after his parents passed. They are forever grateful for this cottage and all of the joy that it brings them and their children. They feel incredibly lucky to live in this community. They both have great attention to detail and love to make guest feel welcome in their home so they can create their own vineyard memories. They provide all the amenities needed in a summer vacation home and a guidebook to help navigate the vineyard, if this is your first visit or maybe your 20th. They are always able to be reached if anything comes up during your stay. They truly want you to feel like this is your home during your stay and hope that you treat it as such. Respectful small gatherings are allowed that are ended at a reasonable hour but please do not have large gatherings or sponsored events.

What is special about this property?
What we love most about this property is that it is a hop, skip and jump outside of Oak Bluffs. We love that we can take the ferry into OB and enjoy a stroll right to our home. We love that the area that the house is in is peaceful and you can feel far away from all of the activity in Oak Bluffs but if you are craving it you can walk down the hill and be there in about 6 minutes. We love that we can walk down a dirt road and be at the beach and take a swim and then return to our porch and open a book and read and enjoy the sea breeze. At night we can either cook a meal on our back deck or walk to town and go out to eat and grab an ice cream afterwards and then stroll back to the peace and quiet of our home. The bus stop is right down the hill so it is easy to navigate the island from our home whether you have a car here or do not.

What is special about your town?
Oak Bluffs is special in many ways. It has the oldest carousel, active harbor, grocery store, many restaurants, candy shops, coffee shops, ice cream shops, churches, boutiques, bars and live music. It has the gingerbread houses, the tabernacle, Union Chapel, art galleries, Ocean Park, East Chop Lighthouse, beaches which include Oak Bluffs Town Beach, Jetty Beach, Inkwell, State Beach, Eastville.... and many cultural activities that are going on nightly.
