Exceeded our expectations in every way. Rose was a pleasure to work with and our family loved the tranquil setting and very well-equipped cottage. Had absolutely everything we could need.

Close to Millie’s and one of the nicest beaches on the island- maybe anywhere in the country.

Don't let the picture fool you. This place is 5 stars all the way. Located in a quiet neighborhood, ideally suited for families. Short walk to the 10 minute bus ride to town. A 10 minute walk through the moors gets you to Nantucket Sound. 5 minutes by car in another direction gets you to Madeket Millie's, a great family restaurant and mini market.

The house has a large wrap around porch, partially covered where we spent most of our time and enjoyed our meals. Good sized grassy back yard joins a common area with trees. Ideal for kids.

The house is fully equipped and very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything for your comfort and enjoyment. All that's left for you yo do is relax! show more show less

This adorable cottage, nicknamed The Birdhouse, is a lovely escape. I especially loved the location, as Madaket is more convenient to town (only 10 minutes by bike!) than other popular rental areas on the island. After a day at the beach, it's great to be able to bike into town for dinner or shopping. In the other direction, the bike path leads to a big surf and fishing beach (Madaket Beach) perfect for sunsets, family photos and the best fish tacos ever! (at Millie's).

The house is in a quaint and quiet neighborhood with a walking/running/biking path through the moors to a calm beach on the Nantucket Sound side that is ideal for small children, dog walking and paddle surfing. The house itself is cozy and functional with bedrooms up and down, the perfect setup. It has a big kitchen, a large deck, outdoor shower, and all of the comforts of home (dishwasher, washer/dryer/ wi-fi) and the added bonus of private tennis courts. I am definitely going back to the Birdhouse this summer. I highly recommend it for families looking for comfort, convenience and access to all of what Nantucket truly has to offer! show more show less

The most wonderful family vacation we have ever had. My kids ask about going back all the time, and we are going to! My favorite thing is the walk to 40 pole beach. It's also really safe. You can just open the door and let the kids run free without worrying.
A sweet and magical house!

The Birdhouse is the best kept secret on the island! The pictures of the outside of the house on the website are deceiving. It's a cozy (not so)little cottage with comfy furniture and a real Nantucket feel, sleeps 8 easily, but is downright spacious for my family of 4. It has a nice, big kitchen and laundry on first floor. It's everything you need! Best of all is the location - we prefer Madaket anyway, as its so much closer to town. This house is in a very private, unassuming development called "Fisher's Landing". Perfect and safe for families who want to bike to the creek, or to big Madaket Beach to see the sunset. You can take a 10 minute (half mile) walk from the house through the moors to the calm "41st Pole" beach area. Also, its right on the main island bike path, only 3-4 mile bike into Nantucket center - access to private tennis courts is a bonus. The only thing to remember is that you definitely need a car to stay there. I have rented many homes on Nantucket this is the ideal place for our family. show more show less

This was a great rental for us! Great location near all the best Madaket beaches -- a beautiful walk through dunes to the Eel Point beaches. In a quiet area -- highly recommended. Fantastic owner who makes you feel at home and has plenty of Island knowledge and recommendations.
