''Queequeg'' - Madaket - Near Public Landing

We've stayed here two summers in a row and absolutely love it! The location is amazing — it is in walking to the distance to Madaket beach, Millie's, Hither Creek (kayaks provided by the owners!), and a beautiful walking/biking path. The house is clean and comfortable with an updated kitchen and the owners are easy to communicate with and are very responsive. We highly recommend Queequeg and hope to stay for many years to come!

My family of four stayed at the cottage for one amazing week. I cannot say enough about the charm of this cottage and the amazing location. The house had everything we needed for the beach and we really didn't need to pack too much at all. We kayaked in the provided kayaks in Hither Creek, rode our bikes to Mille's for ice cream (sadly very pricey) and enjoyed the sunset on Madaket Beach. I love this section of the island. It's a true escape and the nature is incredible.

This cottage is surrounded by things to do. Behind the house is the creek and Smith Point (BEST Sunset spot) and the bay area was great spot for my kids to gather clams and explore. If you make a right out of the driveway you're 2 seconds away from beautiful Madaket Beach and if you go left, you're on the bike trail! We followed the bike trial to Lond Pond where we watched giant snapping turtles...so cool!

There's really nothing but great things to say about our stay. I would not recommend going anywhere near town on a rainy day as it seems that's the same plan everyone on the island has. The cottage was simply the fulfillment of my Nantucket dream and I intend to visit again. It was a great size, especially the master bedroom. The beds were super comfy! The fact that this house had so much history made me feel so lucky to stay in it. The newly remodeled kitchen was sunny and beautiful and the "U" shape of the house made indoor outdoor living part of everyday. I hesitated in writing this review because I don't want the secret to get out but decided in the end that I want others to get a chance to enjoy this little island paradise. show more show less
