There’s no doubt about it, Cape Cod is the perfect family vacation destination! It’s also the perfect setting for adult getaways—be they reunions, girls’ retreats, or guys’ weekends. Here are some suggestions for a fun time when you’re looking to leave the kids at home and enjoy some adult time!
Live Music
Catch a show at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis where no seat is a bad seat! Past guests include Heart, Bonnie Raitt, ZZ Top, and Chicago. Another great place to catch live music is the Payomet Performing Arts Center in Truro. Summed up as “small tent, big shows,” this unique, oceanside venue’s past performers include Los Lobos, 10,000 Maniacs, Karen Carpenter, and The Wailers.
Golfing
The Cape offers over twenty public golf courses. Depending on the time of year, it’s pretty easy to secure a tee time—the earlier the better!
Kayaking and Biking
Rent a bike and enjoy a sunny day riding along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. With 22 miles of trail that wind in and out of state and national parks, you’re sure to get a good bit of exercise while taking in some beautiful views!
Head out on a kayak tour - observe birds and other natural wildlife as you meander through the many inlets and creeks the Cape has to offer. There’s nothing like feeling warm summer rays and sea breezes as you glide along the salty shore.
Beer & Wine Tours
Taste and learn about local brews while visiting Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis. There is always some sort of fun event going on at this establishment involving food or music, sometimes even line dancing! Another great spot to visit in warmer weather is Truro Vineyard. Perched between the Atlantic Ocean and Cape Cod Bay, there really is no better setting for wine tasting!
