Cobblestones, wharves, dune-backed beaches . . . Nantucket. It’s summertime on the beloved tiny island! What’s going on out there? Here’s a list of some not-to-be-missed summertime events listed on the Nantucket Chamber’s website. Visit our Nantucket events page.

Nantucket Book Festival

Presenting our 2021 line-up! Despite having to cancel our annual Book Festival for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to announce a series of virtual (and hopefully some in-person) events presented live.

On April 21st, Diane Rehm + Isabel Wilkerson; a Juneteenth discussion on June 17th hosted by Mitchell Jackson and featuring Dr. Keisha N. Blain, Imani Perry, Deesha Philyaw, and Clint Smith; a Friends & Fiction event with the Fab Five on July 20th; Elin Hilderbrand & Jennifer Weiner on August 19th + "Read the Runway" Fashion Show (presently scheduled as an in- person event); Mitchell Zuckoff in-person on September 18th -- and more!

Registration is necessary for all events. Tickets are on sale now for Cocktails, Conversation, & Couture with Elin Hilderbrand & Jennifer Weiner (all other events are free).

Nantucket Film Festival, June 23 - 28

Nantucket Film Festival has evolved from a small scale "home grown" event into one of the premiere destination film festivals in the world. NFF attracts movie buffs from all corners of the globe to preview screenings, signature programs, special presentations, and shorts. The Nantucket Film Festival brings together locals and luminaries alike, promoting awareness and appreciation of the screenwriter's signature craft.



Nantucket Yoga Festival, July 12 - 14

The island of Nantucket has a unique vibration that has consistently inspired conscious living, the independent spirit and creative collaboration. The Nantucket Yoga Festival is a community orientated celebration that will bring together the very best world class yoga instructors, wellness experts and healthy living guides. We will unite the year round community, summer residents and visitors in a celebration of the spirit of the island. By coming together to explore ways to find a happier, healthier more peaceful way of living we can begin to affect positive change in our community and ultimately in the world around us.

Nantucket Comedy Festival, July 9-11

Founded in 2007, the Nantucket Comedy Festival is an annual summer event that brings top comedic talent to Nantucket Island as the major fundraiser for Stand Up & Learn™, an island-based, year-round comedy education program serving Nantucket's children. The Nantucket Comedy Festival envisions Nantucket as a community connected by laughter. Please join us for the 2019 Festival at the Nantucket Dreamland July 9-11th.

Nantucket Arts & Artisans Show, July 15-18

The Nantucket Art and Artisan Show is Nantucket’s premier art show since 1991. Our show attracts over 3,000 visitors including vacationers, year round and summer residents, and features over 40 local and nationally recognized artisans who highlight both traditional and modern day techniques and a variety of mediums – pottery, glass, textiles, folk art, photography, jewelry, sculpture, furniture and more.

Nantucket Garden Festival, July 13-15

The 11th Annual Nantucket Garden Festival highlights the unique and beautiful garden ecosystems on Nantucket and focuses on the importance of sustainability, conservation and gardening ethics for the long-term health of the island. Scheduled for July 13-15th, the festival celebrates gardening through creative workshops, exquisite garden tours, children’s workshops, family activities and an opening night party.

Boston Pops on Nantucket, August 14

"For 24 years our community has come together on Jetties Beach to support Nantucket Cottage Hospital. The 2020 program featured previous musical performances by the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra as well as a newly created virtual piece and a pre-recorded fireworks display. The 45-minute show also featured Nantucket musicians as well as special video messages honoring the heroes among us."
