About Seashells by the Seashore Flamework Workshop...Capture a bit of the beach in glass in this playful, skill-building soft glass workshop! This class takes beadmaking a step further as students explore more advanced shaping techniques to create seashell-inspired designs.

You'll learn how to form flattened clam shells, twist elegant conch shapes, and experiment with color and movement to bring your pieces to life. The focus is on intentional shaping, heat control, and pushing the limits of soft glass to achieve more intricate forms. For those who want to go beyond beadmaking, there's also the option to work off the mandrel and create small sculptural pieces.

This class blends technique and creativity, resulting in a collection of unique, beachy glass treasures.

Safety & What to Expect

This class is held at our HyArts Campus Flamework Studio

Working with molten glass requires attention to safety at all times. All participants must wear 100% cotton or linen clothing (no synthetic fabrics), along with closed-toe shoes. Long hair must be tied back securely before class.

Protective eyewear will be provided to help you safely view the flame and glowing glass during the workshop.

All pieces created during class must cool slowly in a kiln overnight to ensure durability and prevent cracking. Finished work will be available for pickup the following day.
