About Stories on the Hill Elspeth Hay & Grace Emmet Tuesday...?? Stories On The Hill – An Evening of Hope, Resilience & Human–Nature Connection Tuesday, August 19 | 5:30 PM | Clear Tent on the East LawnLiving here in Provincetown, we're cradled by an ever-changing coastline, whispering forests, and the wild beauty of Cape Cod. It's an environment that shapes us — and deserves our attention. We're honored to host two extraordinary storytellers who invite us to pause, look closer, and remember that connection:? Elspeth Hay — Feed Us with Trees: Nuts and the Future of Food - A deeply researched and hopeful exploration of how perennial nut trees once sustained human life — and how they could help feed our future.? Grace Emmet — Solstice Tree: A Story of a Forest in Times of Darkness and Light - For half a year, Grace walked Provincetown's ancient Beech Forest every week, documenting its beauty and its struggle with a fast-spreading leaf disease. Through delicate illustrations, natural-ink Eco prints, and poetic reflections, she captures a living landscape in transition — urging us to notice, to care, and to protect what we love.Moderated by Jaye Johnson, their conversation is a tribute to the forests, landscapes, and wild places that shape our lives — and a reminder that we can still make a difference.Event Details:• Free & open to the public — no tickets needed; doors open at 5:30 PM sharp.• Parking: Available in the PMPM lot—pay standard daily rates.• Entry Access: Gift Shop or Elevator (final ride at 6pm)The Shallop Bar will be open and a book signing will follow the discussion. Come for the stories, come for the perspective — and deepen your understanding of the land you love. ??
