With the goal of reducing plastic or even paper bags, we have 5,000 complimentary, canvas tote bags to distribute to homeowners. You can leave these environmentally-friendly, attractive, and functional totes for your guests to use in their shopping.

If each tote bag used all summer precluded the use of 10 plastic or paper bags, that would be 50,000 fewer bags clogging our already-stressed recycling or trash situation! Wouldn’t that make us all proud of really making a difference?!

Providing these tote bags for you is a cornerstone of our new "Green Initiative" and starting this Memorial Day weekend, your local Chambers and our offices are stocked with these free bags for you to pick up.

WHEN

Pick up the bags starting this weekend per the schedule below. We have asked the Chambers to reserve them for our homeowners through June, but frankly, we can’t count on that, so we urge you to act fast before some are inevitably taken by vacationers.

WHERE TO FIND THEM

They will be in all Cape and Islands and Plymouth Chambers, except Wellfleet, and at our Orleans (29 Main St., Unit 4, Orleans, MA 02653) office. Tell the Chamber folks that you’re a WeNeedaVacation.com homeowner. Wellfleet owners, go to a neighboring town’s chamber.

WHERE TO PUT THEM

Put them in a prominent place in your rental and inform your vacationers of their location and purpose.

WHY

By all working together, we can REDUCE the use of plastic and paper bags in our homes.

HOW MANY

These are FREE to you, and you should take as many as a big shop might demand, which of course depends on the size of your home. We’re thinking 4-8 per home, but you decide.
