Description

It's all about LOCATION-just steps from deeded access to the Mill Pond where you can launch your Kayak without ever having to put it on your car. This spacious and well appointed home is just off of the LOOP in a sought after private neighborhood. The Marina and Yacht Clubs are a short distance away with Main Street and Oyster Pond nearby. This house is not just a traditional rental it is a home where memories are made. Over the years it has been the venue for special wedding anniversary years e.g.,--40th, 50th and in one case 60th as well as those milestone birthdays up to and including the 90th. In addition many families of the bride or groom when in town for their destination wedding have stayed here for all of the last minute preparations. Read the reviews--extended families LOVE this place. The interior of this home has just recently been painted throughout.
The minute you pass through the entry door you will find the fully equipped well appointed Chef's kitchen with its cherry cabinets, Bosch and Electrolux stainless steel appliances, and wet bar.
From the kitchen, you will step down into the 400 plus square foot sun room with its brick floor, gas log fireplace, comfortable wrought iron furniture, a large flat screen TV (equipped with a Roku, and Netflix and Amazon Prime subscriptions). There is also a table for dining, card playing or putting a puzzle together. This room is a magnet for gathering and overlooks the patio and backyard.

The adjacent large brick patio is perfect for al fresco dining. The three outside tables can be arranged to comfortably accommodate 12. Or you can sip your morning coffee on the lounge chairs and catch up on your emails or just relax and watch nature..

From the sunroom, you can also step up into the formal dining room for eating or for more card playing or puzzles. From there you enter one of the four large common rooms. This first common room has a gas log fireplace, large bay window with window seat and plenty of room for many to gather and share memories or for one or two people to sneak away and enjoy some quiet time and read one of the books on hand.

When heading for the three first floor bedrooms and two baths you will pass the cozy den on your left (the second common room) with its queen sleep sofa, pocket doors and flat screen TV. The pocket doors provide privacy if the need arises this room can be used as a quasi sixth bedroom.

There are four more rooms on the first floor.

The first floor Principle suite has its own bath, a queen bed, and twin trundle beds. It is adjacent to a very large study with gas fireplace and comfortable leather furniture, flat screen TV, desk and printer for those who have to work while vacationing. The study overlooks the second patio and the gardens at the rear of the home. This can be utilized as a family suite or can be perfect for a couple wishing to have their own private space.

There are two other bedrooms on the first floor-one has two twin beds and one has a queen and a twin. These bedrooms share a bath off of the hallway. There are pictures of all of these rooms with the listing. All five bedrooms plus the den and sunroom have ceiling fans in addition to central air. NOTE: Bene queen bed has been added to twin bedroom-picture shows two twins-actual is a twin and a queen.

You now ascend the bridal staircase to the second floor. At the top of the stairs to your left, you will see the Great Room with its wet bar (refrigerator included), and views of the water. There is a set of regular stairs leading up to the 475 square foot roof deck. The Great Room has numerous 6 foot long windows overlooking the yard and gardens as well as sliders out to a cozy balcony (great place for meditating). It is equipped with a large flat screen smart TV. There are tables for game playing or dining. Perfect spot for entertaining or chilling out.

At the other end of the floor is the magnificent second floor Principle Bedroom with its BRAND NEW KING BED (not pictured), private sitting area (that is also a full-size sleep sofa) and your own very special black and white marble and granite bath. The bath has a cast iron soaking tub and a rainforest shower. This room is perfect for the bride to be and her attendants for the last minute preparations prior to the wedding. A number of brides have stayed here including my own two daughters.

The second bedroom on this level has a queen size and a twin size bed as well as ample closet space. and a beautiful outside view. Both bedrooms on this floor have room darkening drapes.

There is a fourth bath off of the hallway that services the bedroom as well as general guests.

The easily accessible roof deck has reclining chairs for sunning and three tables that seat twelve. From here there are water views-sometimes as far as the Atlantic. There are also views of the Mill Pond the Mitchell River, the drawbridge and portions of Stage Harbor.

The outside lot is professionally landscaped with a lush green lawn and a wide long expanse at the rear of the house for lawn games or just relaxing.

The closest Beach, Oyster Pond, is just a 10-minute walk away and downtown is a 15-minute walk. There you will find many restaurants and shops. Veterans Field, the home of the Chatham Anglers, is less than a mile away. The entrance to the Cape Cod Rail Trail for biking off of Crowell Road is about a mile away.

For more information on the layout of rooms be sure to look at the accompanying floor plans. Watch the video and read the reviews--you won't be disappointed. Plus there are no booking fees on this site-saving you hundreds of $.

This location is ideal--convenient yet quiet. Pets considered but must be approved. There is also a Linen Option-if you desire I will order your linens and arrange for delivery-no up-charge to you.

CHECK the reviews--renters LOVE this house and location. Be sure to view the video.

    Best House in Chatham!

My Family and extended family have been staying now at Paul's home for the past 6 years. His home is beyond amazing and located in the perfect spot half a mile from down town Chatham and shopping. The favorite spot is the roof top deck. We always enjoy looking out at Mill Pond and seeing the boats at Stage Harbor Marine. The home has an amazing den area with gas fire place where we spent most of our time eating breakfast and watching football games! The house can accommodate almost any size family, or group which made this years Thanksgiving the first where we had the entire family together under one roof!

The house is immaculate and always clean and ready when you arrive. Paul is always available for any questions we may have. This home has become our go to rental on the cape and is always our first choice no matter the season or time of year. Book your vacation now you won't regret it!

Wonderful September stay on the Cape in Chatham

We've been wanting to get to the Cape for years and we finally did. The weather was unusually warm 85 degrees and muggy with fog every day we were there but we also saw some sunshine. Paul was extremely gracious and very quick to respond. The communication was excellent. He manages this home and the one next door for rentals. We chose this one primarily because of the rooftop deck which we absolutely loved. Only had one or two clear nights at best to enjoy it up there but it was great. Could see the ocean in the distance on the non foggy days. The house was large, comfortable with lots of spaces for you to spread out or get some space if you are traveling with a group. Furnishings are exactly as you see in the photos. Lots of patio terrace furniture for alfresco dining or hanging out. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood. Most nights, we were the only house with lights on. The house is impeccably clean and well maintained and the kitchen was very well stocked for any of your culinary pursuits. There is a den with literally the widest selection of books you can imagine. No need to bring one along from home! We walked to Oyster Pond beach most days which was about a mile away. It's small so no idea what it's like in season. No sidewalks and you walk on the edge of the road so maybe not best for small children, wagons or strollers. We also walked into Chatham main street most nights for after dinner ice cream at Brick's. A little over a mile to get there I would guesstimate. We spent most of our time traveling from one end of the Cape to the other trying see places people had recommended, stopped at numerous beautiful beaches and checked out a number towns. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! It was so fun seeing the seals at the Chatham Fishing Pier! Everywhere we went there were so many iconic beautiful New England sites. Fave places to eat were Wequosset Resort outdoor terrace overlooking the beach, Mac's Seafood YUM YUM - went there a bunch!!! We had a drink at Chatham Bars Inn - awesome view and really enjoyed Moby Dick's in Wellington - so awesome! Too many other places to check out and not enough time, but we know we will be back. We would definitely rent from Paul again! show more show less

    Our Happy Place

My family and i just returned from an amazing week in Chatham. It was our first time back since the pandemic. We have stayed at several homes in the past and this one was just perfect for our needs. The rooms were large, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our 4 children, their spouses and our grandchildren. The owner was very accommodating, always reachable and very nice to deal with. The kitchen was well equipped, and so many rooms to either gather together, spread out or hide in. The grounds were beautiful and the location was perfect. It was very peaceful and an Easy walk to Oyster pond and Main St. We were all very happy and comfortable.
It was wonderful to have my family together in one house. We look forward to visiting again, hopefully next year. Our week in Chatham is a special time for us and its homes like this one, and people like Paul that help make the week so easy and special.

    Perfect Family Vacation Home

This was our 4th year at this perfect family vacation home. The location...which can't be beat...is walking distance to town and Oyster Pond. The extra large backyard and patio are great spaces for all ages. We spent most evenings gathering for dinner as a family in the large sun room and then enjoying all the outdoor spaces. The home is spacious with bedrooms, bathrooms and ample living spaces for families of all sizes. Paul is a great landlord and will answer any/all questions. Inlet Drive is a lovely, quiet street and we highly recommend this home! show more show less

    Amazing Chatham vacation home

We stayed July 2022 and 2023 with multiple families. The house was spacious and accommodated our group perfectly. The location was so picturesque and amazing. You could walk or bike into town and the water view from the rooftop deck is beautiful. Paul is one of the most responsive and friendly people I have rented from. He was always quick to respond to my inquiries and really cared about making sure that we enjoyed our stay. I would highly recommend this house.

    Our annual reunion

We just returned from our stay at Paul's oasis. This has been our second consecutive family vacation with our adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren. The house allows us to have some private spaces as well as communal times together. The house is located close to Oyster Pond and a short drive to Lighthouse beach as well as Coast Guard Beach. This yearly vacation is something I look forward to and hope to have many more to come.

    Spring Visit to Chatham

Just returned from a wonderful stay at Paul's house in Chatham. Beautiful home in the perfect location - was like staying in a classic New England country inn with all the modern-day amenities. Plenty of room for our family of five to spread out, though we found ourselves gravitating to be together in many rooms to enjoy the water and wildlife views from this beautifully appointed home.

House was spotless when we arrived, and Paul is very responsive and helpful with any questions. Chatham in springtime was wonderful - great shopping, restaurants, and beautiful sunsets with no crowds. Can't wait to come back again! show more show less

#4558: Best Possible Family Vacation Home

My family was lucky to vacation in this home during 3 summers. Why: each family unit has its own great, full bath and spacious bedroom; the home has the best location -10 minute walk to either picturesque Oyster Pond Beach, spectacular Chatham Lighthouse or to the robust, quaint Chatham Center. The home is in a well landscaped, spaced out, quiet neighborhood.
There are water views from the second floor balcony and the roof deck. The home has amazing furnishings and is so well appointed with impressive art and paintings displayed in all rooms. Each room has a TV. In 50 + years of vacationing around the country, this home offers the best of everything!!

Owner Paul is a compassionate, proud professional who works tirelessly to provide the best vacation experience for families. EXCELLENT accommodations all around!!! My family could not be happier!

Vacation home for large family group

Very nice home in a location convenient ( walking distance) to Chatham Center and Mill Pond, well maintained and clean.
Owner is very easy to deal with and is accessible and responsive to any issues which arise.
The house is great for a large family vacation. It sleeps approximately 15 people, and has 4 separate sitting areas to easily accommodate varying interests ( table games, card games, watching sports events, children activities vs adult interests).
Dining room and large table in adjacent sunroom to facilitate large family dining.
Good backyard for games, patio for sunbathing, sitting and BBQ.
All family members (11) found beds to be comfortable.( In our experience that is often not the case with vacation rentals. ). The neighborhood is quiet.
We recommend this home and will likely return in the very near future.

    Our 3rd year

This was our 3rd year here. This is the perfect home for a gathering of extended family of all ages. Enough bedrooms and baths for everyone to have some privacy. The location is superb! We walk into town in the morning and walk to Oyster Pond for a day at the beach. The location is great for bike rides to Lighthouse Beach and Monomoy Wildlife Refuge. Everyone enjoyed the home, the patio and the yard. Paul is the most helpful and communicative landlord and just a pleasure to work with. We will be returning next year! show more show less

I went to Chatham in the Spring of 1977 to attend a conference at CBI. It was my first ever visit but I immediately knew it wouldn't be my last. In June 1980 we started looking for a second home on Cape Cod--it didn't take long to decide that Chatham was where we wanted to be. After looking at numerous properties we were lucky in September of 1982 to see a newspaper ad for this house. It was love at first site--quality construction, a super fabulous location and it felt like home.

We were lucky! At that time is was a sprawling three bedroom, 2 bath all on one floor home. As our family continued growing (and getting married) we knew it was time to expand. We added approximately 2,000 square feet mostly as a second level - to include two more bedrooms and two ore bathrooms plus 2 large common rooms.

Every time I plan on going there I feel as excited as I was when we first owned it. It is a special place.

What is special about this property?
Location, location, location. Quiet neighborhood on a private road yet a 10 minute walk to the Oyster Pond and a 15 minute walk to the heart of downtown Chatham. For an after dinner stroll head down the street to Stage Harbor or walk the ''popular loop''.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable and there are 12 of them so an ideal place for your family/group to enjoy each others company yet still be able to have some private space and quiet time.

Just about a mile from the Bike trail or head in the other direction to the Lighthouse Beach.

The lot is large and has a flat area in the back for whiffle ball, croquet, corn whole or just playing tag and blowing bubbles.

This house has hosted many memory making events for my family as well as the families of numerous other satisfied tenants over the years. Sixtieth wedding anniversary, several 80th birthdays, multi-generational family gatherings with people descending from all across the country or the globe.

I had one tenant for the month of July who came back every year for 25 years until such time as her health prevented it. In her obituary it was mentioned that her most favorite place on earth was the house she rented in Chatham for the month of July.

What is special about your town?
How could you not love this town? Miles and miles of shore line, Summer Theater, weekly band concerts, Cape Cod Summer baseball league, any type of restaurant your palette desires. Don't forget golf, tennis, biking, paddle boarding and of course SHOPPING. Lots of boutiques to browse and buy. Chatham is a destination and a great place to spend your vacation.
