Description

Description

This completely renovated and newly painted home is located on a private road and just a few minutes walk away from all that the exclusive yet family friendly seaside village of Chatham has to offer: shops and galleries for every taste, excellent dining, homemade fudge, white sandy beaches, seal sighting & sunset tours of Monomoy Island Wildlife Refuge, Chatham A's baseball, Friday night band concerts at the Chatham Band Stand, and the commercial fishing fleet unloading the day's catch.

Our family friendly Non-Smoking house features a newly furnished large first floor complete with a spacious great room, quiet living room, pristine dining room for 8, a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, and two fabulous bedrooms -- one with bunk beds. Hardwood floors and ceiling fans throughout. New ceramic tiled and renovated bathrooms, too. The kitchen also has granite counters for the chef of the family and a high chair, toddler seat, glider rocker, and fun plastic dinnerware for the kids. Ipod docs, too. Our great room and living room, with two 6 foot sofas, three chairs and a half, (one a twin sleeper), and an extensive library for all ages, make wonderful spaces to entertain and enjoy a book, movie or board game with a nice fire. The second floor includes two additional lovely and large bedrooms with more ceiling fans, and plenty of storage.

For the chef that prefers to show their grilling skills, there is a large furnished deck that is equipped with a gas grill. Comfortably and casually furnished, the house includes a stereo, 2 televisions, 2 DVD players, wireless internet, and a VCR with a large children's video collection. Linens and towels will be provided. There is ample off street parking, as well.

This home is great for active families who are looking for a fun place to vacation. The 1/3 acre yard provides plenty of room to frolic, play games, send a frisbee soaring, hoist a badminton/volleyball net (net and rackets provided), and watch the local wild bunnies. You'll also hear the birds and peepers from the abutting wetlands!

The Old Colony Bike path is within 1/2 mile. Recreation nearby includes: yoga, beachcombing, biking, sailing, running, boating, swimming, seal and whale watching, wind surfing, kite surfing, golfing, go carts, trampolines, birdwatching and world class fresh and saltwater game fishing!! Plenty of local theatre groups, too.

There's even tennis and a playground for the littlest members of the family within a few blocks of our fabulous home. It's an easy walk into town, the Chatham A's games, and Oyster Pond, too.

Chatham, often known as ''the elbow'' to Cape Cod (referring to its cornermost location where Nantucket Sound meets the Atlantic Ocean) offers both swimming in Nantucket Sound (calmer waters, some with tidal pools-great for young children) and the Atlantic Ocean. There are beaches right in Chatham where you can watch real seals in the open water and on the beach every day. You can even enjoy yoga each morning under the seals' watchful eyes.

Chatham also participates in the premier summer Cape Cod Baseball league with its hometown team ''The Chatham Anglers'' where many college players hope to be scouted. (World Series winners Buster Posey and Tim Lincecum both played here.) The ''A's'' also offer great half day baseball camps for $75-$90 fee per week.

People of all ages will love swimming or watching the sailboats cruise into the sunset over Oyster Pond on Nantucket Sound (walking distance). A brief 5 minute car trip (or 2 mile bike ride) will bring you to Lighthouse Beach, Hardings Beach and Ridgevale Beach, and numerous small ponds. Within a 20-30 minute car drive you will find the Cape Cod National Seashore, the Kettle ponds of Nickerson State Park, whalewatching in Wellfleet and the uniqueness of Provincetown.

Required upon booking: Additional security deposit of $500 and cleaning fee of $350.

We were first time visitors to the Cape and lucked upon this rental in the "elbow" of the Cape. Central to everything on the Cape and walkable to all of the hot spots in Chatham. The kitchen is well appointed and a fresh fish market is nearby. We cooked most of our meals at the house. Lauren is fantastic to work with, to boot. She even had fresh flowers and a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived! We loved our visit and already want to return to this lovely place.

    Wonderful week

We stayed for the last week in June, and found the house to be perfect for our family - six adults and four young children under 4. It's comfortable, close to town, and has the feel of home. We cooked all of our dinners in the well appointed kitchen or on the adjacent deck and grill. We all loved the outdoor shower and made ample use of the yard. The house is on a quiet side street close to town so that we walked to the beach, ball field, and The Squire. Lauren was responsive to all that we needed and very easy to talk to. show more show less

    Thumbs Up for Chatham Dream

As they say, location, location, location! The home has great walking access to all of Downtown Chatham as well as Chatham Bars Inn, Lighthouse beach and Oyster Pond. It was stocked, clean and comfortable for our family of six. There is so much to do in this area and many fabulous places to eat. Our two grandsons loved that the Chatham Anglers baseball field was a block away and were able to go to 2 games.

The owner was an exceptional communicator and we felt very comfortable booking this home. We had a wonderful vacation at Chatham Dream. show more show less

Thanks so much for our wonderful stay in your home. Your home is spacious so we could spread out and everyone enjoyed it. I enjoyed sitting outside in the gardens and the children love to play badminton and played most evenings.
We, of course, loved the beach time, biking, and walking to town. We went to the baseball games, especially my grandson and son-in-law. The seal cruise was something we all enjoyed.
Thanks again for a lovely stay at the Cape.

    Wonderful Chatham Vacation Home

This is our second year staying at Lauren's wonderful home in Chatham. It is well stocked with everything you need to feel like home. Our kids are grown but what a wonderful place to bring little ones. There are toys and games to keep them very happy. If we are lucky enough to have another family reunion next year we will definitely rent this home again. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality Lauren.

Friday the 13 has never been better!

Usually Friday the 13 is a day of trepidation and superstition, but this year was the kick off to a week in Chatham. Normally I have stayed in Truro or Wellfleet, but we chose Chatham this time. It was a great decision!

This is a very family friendly house and a superb location. All adults in the party - as it was my sisters and their spouses for a family gathering.

Chatham is a fun town, and we followed the food and actives selection. As we were pre Memorial Day there were many things not yet open for the season, but still plenty to do. Sitting on side porch or the chairs out front was a great place for happy hour!

The Atwood House Museum was a great way to get the history of the town, and early morning bike rides were a plus. A special surprise was the Map Store and the hand painted Treasure and Ghost Maps. Chatham still retains its small town flavor.

Best vacation rental in Cape Cod!

I've stayed in rented houses on Cape Cod before but this one was the best by far! It had all you could possibly need for a great vacation: great location, comfortable spacious bedrooms and a deck with a barbecue grill. The house was within walking distance to the Main Street of Chatham with beautiful shops and restaurants. It is also located in the middle of Cape Cod so it's easy to go east or west to visit other towns. This house gets five stars from me!! It's a place you will want to go back to again and again. Happy Hydrangeas

Everything was perfect and the hydrangeas were an unexpected bonus! Hidden in a beautiful established neighborhood yet easily accessible to so much. Be sure to explore the #AtwoodMuseum and the windmill!

Our family started vacationing in Chatham in the 1970s when it really was a sleepy little town. The Mayflower shop and the Ben Franklin store were there along with a different version of the movie theater. (So glad the Orpheum is back.) Our parents eventually bought what was once a little unfinished Cape model house, and retired here. My dad loved to go clamming, and sometimes help out at a local butcher,; my Mom would bake quiche for Marian's Pie shop and work at the local Puritan. It was job she loved for years.

Eventually the house passed down to us. Even though we are not local, we love coming up to the Cape any time of the year and sharing this wonderful area with our friends, family and the new people we meet through Weneedavacation. There is no better town on the Cape. And we are within walking distance of it. Chatham has baseball, a real Main Street, lots of ice cream and fudge, tons of beaches and bike trails, and the best view of the Atlantic. We look forward to sharing it with you.
