This charming, completely-furnished cottage with distant water views and sensational sunsets was built in 1996, adjacent to acres of Conservation Land, and has been meticulously maintained by the owners, Mary and Craig Gambee. With a den and pull out sofa on the first floor and two bedrooms (four beds) upstairs, the cottage can sleep 5 and is the perfect vacation getaway for honeymooners, young families, empty nesters as well as retirees.
The spacious living room has cable TV, VCR, DVD, and an air conditioning unit as well as a cozy gas fireplace. The den, kitchen with all appliances, and sun room are adjacent to the living room. The sun room, as seen in the photo, is the favorite choice for candlelight dinners and breakfast, although there is a dining area in the living room as well as a counter with chairs in the kitchen. The master bedroom has Cable TV, DVD and VCR. Ceiling fans are in both bedrooms as well as air conditioning units. The full basement with the washer and dryer...

is perfect for storage and bikes. There is an exterior door opening up next to the outdoor shower. Ideally located in rural Nantucket, with enough parking for a Boston Whaler and trailer, the cottage is just a 2-tenths mile walk to the town bike path and shuttle bus stop. Dionis Beach and Nantucket Sound are only 1.5 miles away. For surfers, the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean at Madaket Beach can be reached within a few minutes by bike or car. Madaket Beach is also a favorite place where people gather to watch the sun drop into the sea. And then stroll a short distance to Millie’s, the restaurant that was formerly the Westender. Also within 3 miles are the Nantucket Cottage Hospital, the Steamship ferry, shopping and the post office.
For those who love nature, a keen eye will observe during daylight hours our neighbors of rabbits, deer, song birds and birds of prey who make their home in the surrounding woods. The outdoor shower and patio deck with a barbecue grill face a large back yard with a badminton/volleyball net and tether ball, with the moors and Nantucket Sound in the distance. The family picnic table with bench seats is nearby.
The property caretaker is Sherburne Management and the the smoke and fire alarms are monitored by Intercity Alarm Company.
We can't say enough good things about this absolutely perfect cottage and the owners. We have had the pleasure of staying in this cottage for a decade! Our children were 3, 11 months and 11 months during our first stay. The cottage was absolutely perfect for our curious toddler daughter and her twin brothers. The location is PERFECT for young families, it is so far from the main road that you have no worries of little ones walking out into the street. It is very clean and extremely well appointed. On the rare occasion that there is something missing, Mary and Craig are always willing to lend you theirs. It is also a GREAT location for biking and close to town. Returning to this cottage year after year has been like returning to family. We can't tell you how many times Mary and Craig have met us at the ferry with forgotten belongings or facilitated the perils of having to send our car to Hyannis early by assisting us to the ferry etc with our multiple loaves of herb bread from Something Natural. Kudos to Mary and Craig for making their guest feel so very welcomed and making such special memories for our entire family, including visitors such as my Mom and sister!!!
