We booked it on a whim – just a few weeks before we arrived – and had only a vague idea of where it was located on the island. It turns out this house is perfectly situated on a bike path, halfway between town and Surfside/Nobadeer beaches. If you’ve ever spent a lot of time in Nantucket, you know it can take an hour to travel 2 miles to and from town on a busy summer weekend. From Wiggles’, you can walk, run or ride to just about anything you may need on vacation – the DownyFlake (for a great, cheap breakfast), Stop & Shop, Hatch’s (for beer, wine, liquor and ice for the cooler), shops and restaurants in town, and of course, the beach. This is after all, the quintessential Nantucket beach cottage. With both a deck on one side of the house, and a fenced-in backyard with a patio, grill and outdoor shower on the other side, Wiggles’ has all the amenities for après-beach activities. If you need SubZero appliances and flat screen TVs to keep you entertained on your vacation, this is not the house for you. But, if you’re looking for a great, low-key island home, with plenty of outdoor space, 4 BRs for you and your guests, 2 BA + 1 outdoor shower, quick access to beach and town; and wireless internet when you need to check the surf report or find the best route to Bartlett’s Farm; not to mention the nicest, most accommodating owners, this is the house for you. We had a great time this summer and are already looking forward to our 3-week vacation at Wiggles’ in summer ‘10!"

The description of this rental house does not do it justice. It truly feels like staying in someone’s beautiful home – not like a stripped-down version set up for rental only. It is not only well-maintained but it is very clean and cheery. The layout is perfect for a family with children; offering privacy for the adults but still being on the same floor as the kids – and that BIG yard! The location is extremely convenient for trips to town and the beaches and the road has it’s own connecting bike path. The owner grew up in this house and has always lived on the island – she’s most helpful! Nothing but positive things to say about our stay in this house in June 2009 and we think that it must be absolutely a best value for a vacation on Nantucket.
