Welcome to Highlands Haven. Avoid the traffic jams, we are a Sunday to Sunday rental. Linens are included year round. In the off season, there is a $250.00 cleaning fee.

As you can see, I have imbued the house with a colorful vibe and have filled it with love.

Tucked away from the maddening crowds (and the traffic), yet close to everything a Cape Cod vacation is meant to include, this exceptionally large 3-bedroom, 3 full bathroom (one on each floor) house has ample space to gather or to get away from each other. Located in a quiet neighborhood just off Old Kings Highway (Route 6A), a perfect area to enjoy your morning strolls or dog walks.

The large living room has a gas fireplace (perfect for those chilly evenings) with built-in bookcases and plenty of seating to gather around the 55” Samsung smart-TV (don’t forget your Netflix, Amazon, Disney or other streaming passwords) with Xfinity for cable service.

The eat-in kitchen was upgraded with all new appliances. The cabinets and pantry are filled with every conceivable accessory one could require to make delicious meals at home. For casual seating, there are three bar stools at the kitchen counter, which is open to the spacious and vaulted dining room that has a round table to seat six.

Should the weather be favorable, step outside to the oversized deck with another table and six chairs and extend the awning for a shady respite. This is the perfect spot to watch either your two-legged or four-legged family members enjoying the fully-fenced rear yard.

Tucked down the hall is the recently renovated hall bathroom that also has the large-capacity front loading washer & dryer. At the end of the main floor, are two equally sized guest bedrooms (one with a queen bed & TV, one with two twin beds). Each have comfy chairs for a bedtime story or just to find a quiet spot to get away with a good book.

The entire 2nd floor is the owner’s suite, encompassing the entire length of the house with a king bed (tucked under the skylight, count the stars before going to sleep!), its own en-suite bathroom, 2 comfy chairs and another Samsung smart-TV.

All bedrooms have Simmons Beautyrest mattresses.

Downstairs is a fully finished basement with a free-standing gas stove, the 3rd full bathroom and direct access to the rear patio or the attached 1-car garage. Should the weather be unfavorable, there is another large table with six chairs to enjoy playing games, cards or putting together jigsaw puzzles. There is even a small desk area should the ''work from home'' crowd need a place for the laptop!

We even put a second full-sized refrigerator in the garage attached to the finished basement for your beverages or additional food products.

Step outside and enjoy your own private oasis with 6 Adirondack chairs and a fire pit for evening relaxation and beautiful plantings that surround the rear property line. The large yard has ample room for soccer, baseball or other fun activities with the family. There is also a Pawley's Island hammock for relaxation.

There is an outdoor shower for washing off the sand from your beach excursions (or bathing your pooch after a long run) with a handheld shower head.

There is also a gas grill for BBQs with 4 burners and a side burner for doing a lobster boil.

The large detached garage is not currently part of the rental.

Air conditioning is provided on all three floors and of course, there is high-speed internet with WiFi boosters on each floor.

There are 5 public beaches within 2 miles of the house, try a different one each day. For just $90.00 for a beach pass for the week, you can explore Chapin Memorial, Mayflower, Nobscussett or Corporation Beaches on Cape Cod bay and Princess Beach on Scargo Lake. We provide you with ample beach towels!

No trip to any of the bay beaches would be complete without a sunset stroll or spending an hour or two at low tide to hunt for critters & shells in the mile-long sand puddles that extend far into the bay.

So convenient to everything that Dennis has to offer, there are so many things to do on the north side of the Cape! The Dennis Public Market is less than a mile away, and is a wonderful, family-owned food store that has everything you could need to create great meals at home. A slightly longer drive, you will find Ferretti's Market in Brewster with the best selection of steaks & other meat products or Peterson's Market in Yarmouthport!

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is well worth a visit to explore some of the amazing art by local Cape artisans. The Cape Cod Playhouse is the best place to experience live theater and the summer schedule is already up on their website. Both are less than a mile from the house.

Care for a little walk (or a kayak) on the wild side? Take the time to go climb Scargo Tower, located at the highest point on Cape Cod with views for miles on a clear day! Take a couple of hours to enjoy the nature trails at Flax Pond Conservation Lands or travel a little farther to the larger Nickerson State Park. Paddleboards and kayaks can be launched on Swan River just a few miles away.

Whatever your plans for a memorable Cape Cod vacation, Highlands Haven is the perfect base from which to explore, and a lovely sanctuary to relax at the end of the day!

    Another Great Visit to Highlands Haven
    September 2025

    Wow! We're just back from another fabulous vacation in Dennis at Highlands Haven, and could not be happier. As always, the house was clean and absolutely ready for us upon arrival. Guests at this house are left wanting for nothing : it's beautifully decorated with comfortable furnishings and a well appointed kitchen. The fully fenced yard is like heaven for our dog! The location couldn't be better, with great restaurants shops and of course the beach in close proximity. Each year that we return, we learn about new places to explore with our dog and new restaurants- and all of our favorites remain! One of the best features of this house is the responsiveness of Scott, the owner. All questions are answered almost immediately. A pleasure from start to vacation's end.     Another great vacation!

    This is our 3rd year at Scott's house and we still love it. Some perks are the wonderful retractable awning on back deck to enjoy outdoors when the sun is beating down. The location is great for bay beaches, we especially love Corporation. West Dennis beach another favorite if we are moving slow in the morning, plenty of parking! Had a great meal at Oyster Company, love the lemontree shops! Petersens and dennis market very close, excellent seafood and fresh food items, great pizza at petersens too! Beds in house super comfortable, backyard huge for games as is the finished basement.Sesuit harbor best fish and chips!! Did a sunset cruise on the Hindu in Ptown, was awesome! Also did a seal cruise on the Perseverance speedboat out of Harwich, was great!! Love east Dennis location, close to everything, streets are quiet! show more show less

    It was so great to have you all back for a 3rd year in a row! It sure sounds like you were able to get around the ENTIRE Cape on this trip! I've actually never been able to get out on any of the cruises (except a sunset lobster dinner cruise once out of Sesuit Harbor!). Have to try one of the seal cruises sometime. Oyster Company is also a new restaurant for me, so will have to try that when I return this fall. So glad we already have you coming back for your 4th year next year!

    Highlands Haven is the Cape's best kept secret!

    What was there not to love about Highlands Haven in Dennis, MA? As you travel down the quiet neighborhood street, you arrive at the large driveway that accommodated our three vehicles for the week. My husband, two daughters, and myself found our way up the beautiful deck to the back door, the large deck with table and chairs were tidy and ready for us to enjoy. As soon as we entered the kitchen we knew we had found our home away from home. We excitedly threw off our shoes and explored. Meticulous is how we would describe this home. The towels were fluffy, the bedding was soft, the mattresses were cozy and there was plenty of space for the six of us to spread out! My Mom enjoyed her morning tea in the formal dining room, and Tank (my parents Maltese) enjoyed exploring the house with his favorite girlies (my daughters) hanging out with them whenever he could! We could tell that Tank loved Highlands Haven because of how comfortable he was and was very happy through the whole week! We all had fun watching Jaws in the finished basement (it was the 50th anniversary of Jaws this year), and the girls were able to play games outside on the deck under the awning, even when it was drizzling out!
    The neighborhood was quiet, and a quick 5 mins from our favorite beaches! Mayflower, Chapin, and Corporation beach, don't forget to purchase your weekly beach pass on the Dennis, MA Town website, and get there early for parking. The Cape Abilities Farm is very close by, and a great place for fresh produce or flowers, they even had baked goods! My husband and I enjoyed lunch at Scargo Café, it was delicious with a great atmosphere! Of course we hit up our annual favorites, Kream & Kone and the Sundae School! Fried seafood and homemade ice cream cannot be beat at those two locations! When we weren't dining out, the kitchen was perfect for us to cook in! The appliances were clean, easy to operate, and it was so nice having the spare fridge in the garage downstairs. We used the grill and made wonderful meals, which helped with the dining budget. On our last evening, we went to Brax Landing in Harwichport. Not only was the view beautiful, but the service was excellent, all six of us enjoyed wonderful meals as the sunset over the Saquatucket Harbor.
    We have been coming to Cape Cod every Summer since 1991, we've stayed in various towns, hotels/motels, houses, cottages, and trailer parks, this was one of our best visits and a lot of it had to do with the comfort we found at Highlands Haven. We cannot wait to go back; my daughters are already planning the trip for next year! Thank you, Scott, for opening your home to our family, creating an accommodating space for us to enjoy all week!!!

    Highlands Haven Is The Place To Be In Cape Cod
    June 2025

    Highlands Haven is a beautully decorated and clean home with all the amenities you could possibly ask for - even a lighted magnifying mirror in the master suite! All the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast on the deck with a covered awning was so nice and relaxing. Scott has everything covered … no stone unturned. Scott is very quick to respond to any questions you might have. He is a pleasure to work with. Our dog, Sparky, loved the large fenced backyard. Sparky felt right at home. The neighborhood is very safe, quiet and ideal for taking a walk with Sparky. The location is ideal - so accessible to many things. A great restaurant we experienced was Caroline's Bar & Grille in North Eastham and they take reservations! Don't hesitate renting this property if you are considering a vacation on Cape Cod.     Spectacular home away from home
    September 2024

    From the moment we walked into Scott's home, my family and I were floored by the cleanliness, the bright colors, and the quality of everything! This house has all the comforts of home including fluffy towels, feather pillows, good WiFi, and all the kitchen gadgets. Our dog settled right in as well, enjoying and exploring every bit of the enclosed backyard. Before we arrived, Scott was kind enough to let us know that the previous guests must have had a black dog and the quilt in the primary was unacceptable for our stay. It wasn't a problem for us as we brought our own quilt, but how kind of the owner to alert us! He also texted us to tell us about some fireworks and town events that were happening…so thoughtful! The beds were great, the tub was helpful for our kids to take a bath each night, and the patio was a slice of heaven. The neighborhood was so quiet; we took nightly walks with our dog and kids…so enjoyable! Best of all, the location! Central to so much. Our favorite spots were Grumpy's for breakfast and Captain Frosty's for seafood and soft serve. Mayflower beach is incredible and our best discovery was Paine's Creek Landing in Brewster for the kids…go see for yourself! show more show less

    This is our second year renting this house and we feel it is our home away from home! The set up of the house allows for great family get togethers along with down time alone if needed. We discovered Corporation Beach,our new favorite bay beach that was only a 6 minute drive. Also love the Lemontree shops and of course Petersons market for great pizza and groceries. Corporation Beach is one of the best on the North shore of the Cape, it is a somewhat hidden gem, just as nice as Mayflower Beach.     Summer Fun

    This was our second year renting this beautiful home in Dennis. The property is more than well equip with everything you would need to stay for a year! From top to bottom, this three level home works wonderful for my husband, daughter and her two boys. Every level has an updated full bath. The kitchen has everything one would need to make a gourmet meal, every utensil, pot, pan, right down to the linen table napkins and gorgeous pottery and platters. The beds are super comfortable with lovely linen sheets, Turkish Towels in the Lower Level bath, beautiful bed covers and pillows. The walk out lower level additional family room and game room has a fireplace and French Doors to the outside patio, shower and Fire Pit which the boys enjoyed making S'more's once again this summer. We had a great time at Mayflower Beach. One day it rained so we took the kids to the Water Park while I shopped till I dropped at "Cathy's Place" right across the street. Ladies! Don't miss this shop if you like Lulu B clothing!
    We love Scargos Restaurant (x3), Cobies for our annual Fried Clam and Seafood Plates but our most favorite this year was Encore! It was the best! The Art Museum is right out back behind Encore as well as the Cape Cod Playhouse where we were lucky enough to score the last two tickets to the Broadway Play "Beautiful"- Carole King. It was our last night at this rental! Although we don't have a dog, this home is pet friendly. I have a keen sense of smell and did not smell any scent of a dog nor did I see one dog hair. This home is clean from top to the bottom. We have already booked our vacation for 2025. This is one not to miss. Thank you for allowing us the privilege to rent your beautiful home.

    Perfect Family Vacation

    This is our second year returning to Highlands Haven, and we can't wait to come back again next summer. Scott is a wonderful host, and quick to answer all of our questions. Our kids spent every moment (that we weren't on the water) in the fenced in backyard, all of the amenities we needed for our family were available, and he has really made this house feel like a home.

    Highlands Haven more like Highlands Heaven

    Wow! Where do I begin. The Highlands Haven was an amazing place for my family's vacation this year. The location of this home is in a very lovely area in Dennis. Let's begin with the outside - the yard was very well kept and was quite large. It is completely fenced in which our dogs Duncan and Jessie really appreciated. The dogs are very small in size and had more than enough space to run around the backyard. The backyard provides a fire pit surrounded by plenty of seating. There is also a hammock out back in which on a nice day you could take a nap or enjoy a book. During our stay I enjoyed both in the hammock - a good book and a short nap.
    Moving to the inside of the house...so very amazing. This is a 3 bedroom home. The master bedroom is located on the entire second floor level. It is a very spacious bedroom with two skylights (with shades that can be drawn over them at night if you want to keep the room dark in the morning). It also has a very large en suite with more than enough room for your personal items. It is a shower only bathroom and the water temperature and pressure get an A+.
    The living room on the main floor was a great location for us all to sit before bedtime to chat and reflect upon on our days. There are plenty of books for your enjoyment as well as some games to enjoy with your family.
    The other two bedrooms (one queen and one with two singles) are both located at the same end of the hall. They are spacious and comfortable as well. Although my husband and I stayed in the master suite we could have bee just as happy in the queen-sized bedroom. We were with my elderly parents who don't do stairs that well anymore.
    The bathroom on the main floor is quite spacious as well. That is where the washer and dryer are also housed. As with the rest of the house...all of the appliances are very modern.
    The kitchen was amazing withwith an island placed in the center. We enjoyed cooking and hanging out in there as we prepared family meals a few nights during our visit. It was nice to sit in the beautiful dining room as a family to enjoy home cooked meals.
    The decor of the house I cannot say enough. We absolutely love the choice of paint colors as well as the many framed photographs taken by the Owner Scott. His photography is absolutely beautiful and can also be ordered through him, if you so choose. He also has a table top book of some of his photography as well. There is other art work throughout the house from other artists that are beautiful as well. We absolutely loved all of the decor in this home. The owner's did a beautiful job. There is not one single reason that anyone wouldn't want to return to this beautiful vacation home.
    Lastly, the basement is just as amazing as the rest of the home. It is completely finished with a dining room table, television area, and a nice sized bathroom. There are also some games on the dining room table to be enjoyed.
    One of our favorite restaurants nearby is Jack's Outback in Yarmouth Port, which is just a short drive away. We usually frequent this restaurant for breakfast which is amazing. They have delicious popovers which you don't see in many places and they have amazing seasonal specials. We go during Autumn and really enjoy the "Pumpkin Bread French Toast". It is truly amazing and does not disappoint. My husband and I got married in Yarmouth Port so we always dine at The Olde Yarmouth Inn for dinner. This is a more upscale restaurant and has never disappointment either. Each year that we are there we always try to see new sights and do different things. We end up going from one end of the Cape to the other during our stay. There are many wonderful things to do while visiting the Cape such as Scargo Tower, Sandwich Glass Museum, Brewster Grist Mill, many lighthouses to seek out, and a visit to the General Store in Brewster.

    Wow, I've never had a guest want to share so many details that they ran out of characters at the end of the review!!! Hopefully, your last sentence was saying that the only disappointment will be... "leaving"! Thanks for the details on a few of the great restaurants on the Cape as well. So happy you all appreciated my decorating style, and my own photos!

    Beautiful home!!

    We recently stayed at the highlands haven and truly loved it! The house was beautiful and very spacious! Our two dogs loved the yard and enjoyed spending time out there while we relaxed on the deck or patio! It was fully stocked with kitchen utensils, games and books. The neighborhood was quiet and nice yet close to many great restaurants and beaches! We loved visiting Mayflower beach and truly enjoyed our time there. The owners binder had several great suggestions of local places that we tried and enjoyed all of them! We would definitely recommend the highlands haven! show more show less

    I'm so glad that you all (including your dogs Louie & Winnie!) had a great time at our house this Summer! Always nice to know that my guests actually try-out some of my recommended place to eat and things to do that I share in my guest binder! Mayflower is indeed, a great beach to enjoy, and the sunsets from there are amazing!

    I do hope that your schedule can find time to return in 2024!

    I have been renting my first property (ID# 14849) in South Yarmouth since 2008, and have many satisfied returning clients. I began my love affair with Cape Cod in the 1980's when I attended Boston University, and have been coming back ever since! I purchased that property in 2008, and enjoy taking breaks in the off-season (and also a great time for you to rent!) while the Summers are filled with my guests!

    In 2022, I have added to my portfolio & just launched another fantastic rental (ID# 35548) in the quiet north side of Dennis, just a short 2 miles to Mayflower Beach!

    I have a German Shorthaired Pointer and an English Springer Spaniel, hence both houses are completely dog-friendly & full fenced!

    What is special about this property?
    Long Pond Cottage is a perfect blend of the old and the new! I love the fact that each of the bedrooms have their own reading nooks and the previous Owner was a gifted carpenter. My own personal decorating style is not your ''cookie-cutter'' interior design, and it feels very much like my own home (which it is!). The two bathroom renovations are what I am most proud of designing. and the new kitchen (2019) is another colorful addition to the renovations list!

    It's a great walking neighborhood with access to a (non-motorized) fresh water lake for swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, etc.

    Highlands Haven is a larger property that provides for an even larger fenced yard. I have spent the Winter of 2022 completely renovating the house & imbuing it with a more modern, colorful vibe! This too is another great walking neighborhood with very few vacation rental properties, yet is so close to all the amenities of Dennis along the historic King's Highway and multiple beaches within 2 miles.

    What is special about your town?
    Both South Yarmouth and Dennis are central to everything, yet tucked away from all the busy roads.
