Charming Dunelighthouse with Private Beach

I've been coming to Eastham for 25 years & this is by far the best beach cottage I've ever rented. It's even better than the photos. Perfect location, right on the Bay, easy beach access, well equipped kitchen- really good on this point!- strong wifi & cable access, comfy beds, excellent outdoor shower, & plenty of outdoor furniture and beach chairs. We had a wonderful week here- the beach house was very comfortable, charmingly decorated, and had everything we needed so we felt completely at home. The location is fantastic- literally just over a dune to a quiet private beach on the bay, and a short drive or bike ride to the National Seashore on the other side. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck and using the weber grill while enjoying ocean views and lovely sunsets over the bay. We would definitely stay here again.

A lovely spot, right on the sands of the bayside ~ beautiful sunsets, spacious sandbars and quiet moments are just a few steps off of the deck of Dunelight Beachhouse. The welcoming home is perfect for our family to come together ~ grandparents, parents and children. Simply beautiful ... so special... a treasure!

This was our second time staying and we are glad we chose to return.We have two young children and the beach is perfect for them (and for the adults too.) At low tide they are building sand castles on the closest flat and finding hermit crabs, snails, tiny little fish (last year we saw horseshoe crabs and a moon snail.) You can explore with the kids or watch them from under your beach shade. At high tide we swam and snorkeled, and also sat under our sun shade I liked that there is enough room on the beach still at high tide to relax on the sand.

There are three bedrooms. The one with the king bed is off the kitchen, and the other two are down the hall, this worked great for us. My parents stayed with us for a few days, and the room off the kitchen gave them a feeing of being a little more separate. Another must-have in this house: the outdoor shower. It's refreshing to take a hot shower on a cool morning out there, but also a necessity with sandy beach kids.

If you're looking for activities away from the house, the Wellfleet Mass Audubon Sanctuary is nine minutes away, and has great programs for kids (like hands on habitats and seashore ramble), and adults too (kayaking.) Sign up ahead of time online.

Final words: Can't beat this beach. We love staying here :)
