Description

Our 3 bedroom, 2 bath Cape house is a bright and airy vacation escape. It offers an open floor plan, cathedral ceiling main living space with wood flooring throughout. It is clean and very well maintained. The screened in porch allows you to dine outside while enjoying the beautifully landscaped yard. Or, sit out on the deck on the Adirondack chairs or at the table with umbrella. Choose your beach—drive 3 mins to the calm Campground Beach or 5 minutes to First Encounter Beach on the bay, or 6 minutes to the ocean side Coast Guard or Nauset Light beaches. We are also just 5 minutes to Great Pond for a swim in the fresh water after the beach. Or take a walk after dinner—it’s just 0.9 miles to catch the sunset! Then enjoy the outdoor shower with changing room. Nearby is the Cape Cod Rail trail bike path.

The main floor bedroom with queen bed and TV, has an en-suite bath, which is connected with the living room and contains a washer and dryer. The large dining table easily accommodates all guests. Downstairs, two ductless split A/C units cool the main living areas and bedroom. Upstairs are two bedrooms with new window AC units with remotes—one bedroom with a king, one with a full and a twin mattress—and the second full bath. In the finished basement you"ll find a couch, foosball tables and knock-hockey, as well as lots of games and books.

Plan to cook? You’ll find a gas grill in addition to a fully equipped kitchen. Great coffee can be found at Beanstock, the local Cape roaster just 4 minutes away, and awesome bread and pastries are up the road at PB Boulangerie. Kids can have their own space in the finished basement, when not playing on the grassy back yard. Beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels are available to borrow.

We offer the perfect location for the best the Cape has to offer—National Seashore beaches, cycling, and the lovely towns of Wellfleet (12 mins) and Orleans (9 mins).

Please reach out with any questions. read more show less

A happy return to the happy place!
    July 2026

Lori & Joel are such gracious hosts. Their home is very clean, well appointed and the perfect size for our family of six adults. The location is convenient for all the Cape has to offer and their recommendations are always spot on. Owners are very easy to get in touch with and responsive. This is our fifth year in Joel & Lori's Happy Place and we hope to return next year!

Our Happy Place is well named!
    July 2026

This is the 4th consecutive summer that we have stayed in Lori and Joel's exceptional home, and we have already reserved for next year. The house is charming and well laid out. The rooms are spacious, the kitchen and bathrooms are modern and well equipped. The house was spotlessly clean. It is extremely well located, close to both the bay and ocean beaches.
The highlight is the screened porch, which was used constantly. It allowed us to enjoy the outdoors even on a rainy day. From the screened porch, we were able to watch the backyard wildlife, including rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, meadow voles, hummingbirds, woodpeckers (both red-breasted and downy), finches (goldfinch and house finch), mourning doves, cardinals, blue jays and Baltimore orioles. Lori and Joel are diligent and attentive and they made certain that everything was perfect for our stay. We are very happy to be returning next year. show more show less

As a guest in this house, I truly felt like it was my home. Joel and Lori have done everything to make a guest feel comfortable and welcome - from the warm "welcome note and bottle of wine" to the screened porch and garden alcove. I just loved sitting on the deck looking out at the gardens, shrubs, and birds.
The house is immaculate and incredibly tidy. There isn't anything more a guest would need even on a rainy day!

This place is special. We've stayed all over the Cape and this house stands out. The beds are so comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could need, but the real star here is the screened-in porch. We had breakfast there, dinner there, and watched birds and bunnies. Perfect location between two lovely ponds, an excellent bay beach (Campground), and only a five minute drive to arguably the best ocean beach on the Cape (Nauset Light). We rode bikes on the rail trail, saw a movie at the drive-in, and ate lobster shack dinners, all five minutes or less away. Lori and Joel are the perfect hosts. Personable people with a beautiful house. Everything is available and labeled. They even have binoculars so you can get a closer view of the birds. Heard the owl, but never spotted it. Please note: we're not birdwatchers. We just needed a vacation. This house made us slow down and enjoy summer. We've already booked it for next year. Easy five stars for this Eastham gem. show more show less

    June 2024

This is the 2nd year my family has rented this lovely house for a long Memorial Day weekend. It is well appointed and has plenty of room for my family. It is by far the cleanest house we have stayed in on the Cape. We are looking forward to next year!

    Very Comfortable, Relaxing and Enjoyable
    July 2023

The two of us had a wonderful time as we escaped the hot summer in Florida for two weeks. The screened porch was delightful, and we enjoyed seeing the deck flowers and roses bloom. The yard was so peaceful. We loved having the primary bedroom on the first floor (big closet!) and the very quiet AC. The owners' binder was full of great places to visit and detailed info about the house. Having the bird feeder was special for us. The restaurant list was very helpful, especially for our first night when we were tired from travel. Thank you for an exceptional stay! show more show less

We purchased this Herring Brook Road home after many fond memories vacationing with our family and friends on the Cape, and we are personally pretty psyched to spend time at the house. To us, this is the place to be on Cape Cod--close to the best the Cape has to offer. We are avid cyclists, and love this area for cycling on or off road (using the Cape Cod Rail Trail just 5 minutes from the house). When our kids were toddlers, we would spend all day at the bay beaches; Campground is a 3 minute drive from the house. It's also easy access when traveling with our less mobile family members! But we also love the excitement and the beauty of the ocean side--Nauset Light, Marconi, and Coastguard beaches are simply stunning.
We like great food, and can provide renters with guidance on the best spots to dine. And, we provide a well stocked kitchen with all you need to cook a meal to enjoy on the screened-in deck.

What is special about this property?
We love that you can access both the bay and ocean beaches without having to travel down Rt 6, avoiding traffic. We love the light--from the sky light, the long windows, the french doors. There's nothing like this Cape style architecture; a ranch or split level or colonial just wouldn't feel right for summers at the Cape. We love the back yard with mature plantings that you can see from the lovely screened porch, and the outside deck with the new gas grill. Most everything in the house is new, in fact. There are new mattresses and bedding, cookware, furniture, paint, and refinished wide pine floors. We love how comfortable it is for entertaining, given the open floor plan, and that there's a space for kids to get away to downstairs in the finished basement. And we love rinsing off in the outdoor shower with changing room after a relaxing day at the beach.

What is special about your town?
Eastham is perfectly situated with some of the very best beaches. And it sits between two charming towns, Wellfleet and Orleans, where you can shop, stroll, visit galleries, and dine. Chatham is also not far, and Provincetown is in easy reach. You can rent kayaks or sailboats nearby, go to the beach, play tennis nearby at the High School courts, bike ride, or swim in the fresh water ponds--Great Pond is just up the road!
