The Red Cottage (as we affectionately call it) was built in 1961 by grandfather as a vacation home for our family of five. Its sits in a semi-wooded lot. You’ll notice a sign next to the door that has 3 light houses - those lighthouses represent my mom and her two sisters. Just 90 minutes from East Providence where my grandparents ran the family plumbing business, it was a special getaway for my mom's family and a huge accomplishment for my grandfather who was a second-generation Scottish immigrant.

Over the years, it’s been enjoyed by my family as well as friends and longtime renters. It holds a special place in my family’s history and has been the keeper of memories and fun to all of its guests over the years.

Two years ago, the cottage flooded during a winter cold snap. We were faced with a difficult decision: shutter the cottage and close the chapter on this sentimental property, or rebuild. Thankfully, we chose the second option.

From the outside, the cottage enjoy vintage charms and represents its history. Stepping inside, renters will be greeted by a completely gutted, newly renovated interior featuring two nice-sized bedrooms, a modern kitchen, washer & dryer, a comfortable sized living room. It's cozy, comfortable and the perfect size for a beach vacation.

A short walk to private bayside access (at the intersection of Western Avenue and Shurtleff Road) and within a short drive or bike ride to other local beaches (fresh water ponds, public beaches), we think you'll love this home away from home.

COMING SOON - A newly constructed deck and screened in porch (spanning the side of the house). The deck will be under construction soon and available for our summer 2025 renters.
