Description

Come and relax at the ''North Studio'' in the Cape Cod National Seashore. Stroll by the historic Nauset Lighthouse on your short walk to Nauset Light Beach - one of the most beautiful ocean beaches on Cape Cod.

Nestled in the trees and adjacent to Nauset Light, this former artist's studio was gutted and rebuilt in 2003. It has a reverse living plan with a beautifully decorated nautical theme... The upstairs has a cathedral ceiling with an open kitchen, Corian breakfast bar, large table, full bath, and living room with a satellite TV, and sound bar. It has a great view of Nauset Lighthouse, which is right next door. The ground floor has two queen bedrooms, a bedroom with two sets of twin-sized bunks, and a full bathroom. The basement has the laundry and a large finished room that is a walkout with large windows and a queen bed, satellite TV, DVD and small fridge. There is a 1/2 bath adjoining this room.

The outdoor area has a flagstone patio and is equipped with a Weber gas grill. Eight beach chairs and four boogie boards are provided; as well as an outdoor clothes line for drying bathing suits and towels.

Other amenities include central air conditioning, outdoor shower, hammock, games, books, puzzles, satellite TV and Internet service.

Just stroll over anytime to Nauset Light Beach without waiting in the long parking line, or stay at home and listen to the surf while watching the red and white beams from the lighthouse slice through the sky. Other nearby activities include biking on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, playing tennis down the street at the Nauset HS tennis courts, or swimming in one of Eastham's freshwater ponds. The National Seashore Visitors Center offers several activities including guided walks and canoeing. It is fun to have a bonfire at night on the beach with a permit from the National Seashore’s Visitor Center.

Your ideal Cape Cod vacation awaits!

    Wonderful place

We had a truly wonderful time in your beautiful beach home this past August. We are a very close and busy family that look forward every year to spending quality time together. We often turn off all the lights on the top floor of the spacious living area to watch the lights from the lighthouse pass through the windows...this has become our welcoming beacon. The home and property are meticulously cared for and beautifully furnished. The only downside was the week always goes too fast! We believe we have found the best spot on The Cape. show more show less

Look no further for your rental!

Everything that I look for in a vacation home rental was provided here. LOCATION: quiet, private setting, nicely landscaped, a short walk out the door to visit the Nauset Lighthouse, and a 2 minute walk from there to the beach. (Easy drive access to restaurants/grocery store).
HOME: spacious, updated, beautifully decorated w/ an open floor plan ~ ideal for preparing food/sharing meals or relaxing in the living room. The living area has many XL windows allowing for lots of light (at night when all the lights are off, the view is the light at the top of the lighthouse!). AMENITIES: everything you need (kitchen/beach amenities) except for towels and sheets which is typical of Cape Cod and outlined in the description. Homeowners were great to work with, and, having rented thru other home rental sites I can honestly say this was the best experience/rental our family has enjoyed! show more show less

    A New Tradition

Our family spent a week or two every summer in the Eastham area from our sons' babyhood through college. After many years away from the Cape, our now expanded family was ready to come back. The Spitler house was absolutely perfect for our six adults and two young children. There was plenty of room for everyone for sleeping, relaxing, and showering. The house was spotless and charming and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The lovely plantings surrounding the house added to the beautiful setting, including the views of Nauset Lighthouse. And the beach! An easy walk from the house, even carting all the "stuff" that young kids need at the beach. There is plenty of room on the beach to spread out. New bathhouses and bathrooms should be finished by 2023. But the house is so close, it's easy to walk home for a mid-day toddler nap or lunch. Over the years, we have stayed in many houses on the Cape. This is the best, and we look forward to returning. show more show less

    Wonderful Property!

We have rented the North Studio for many years, and always have a wonderful experience! The location is outstanding.....mere steps to the Nauset Light Beach, and the beautifully landscaped property offers a great deal of privacy. The house offers everything you need, with a great space to entertain guests - we've hosted many happy family gatherings here and renting the adjacent cottage is a great option for larger groups. Much appreciated are the beach chairs that are supplied with the house....everything you could want for a terrific time at the Cape is here! show more show less

    Perfect!

Was there ever a more perfect house in which to spend time on the Cape? We have been regular visitors for over thirty years, and found this to be our best ever rental. Practically at the foot of Nauset Light, it is well appointed, comfortable, sunny, nestled in nature, and a very short walk to the beach.

We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and can recommend this home without reservation.

    Wonderful vacation spot

Our second year at this home keeps us wanting to return. Everything at our finger tips for a relaxing family vacation. The walking access to Nauset Light Beach eliminates the need for using a car and allows us to go to the beach anytime day or night. The house is amazing, I especially enjoy the large kitchen and family room. We had many meals and game nights with plenty of space for all. The house is very clean and the beds are comfortable. Can't wait for next summer!

    Great House and Great Location!

We had an amazing week at the "North Studio". The house was immaculate when we arrived. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped, the propane grill was easy to use, and the living area was perfect for doing the many puzzles that come with the house.

It's a super easy walk down to Nauset Light Beach (we clocked it at 0.3 miles from the house to where we actually set up on the beach near the lifeguard stations). We were thrilled to be strolling past the long line of cars waiting to pay and park. The waves were perfect for boogie boarding and we got to see the occasional seal in the waves a bit further out.

At low tide, we hopped in the car and drove out to Cooks Brook Beach (you can buy a day pass at this beach), and the kids had an awesome time skim boarding. We also made good use of the Cape Cod Rail Trail, which was less than 2 miles away from the house and offered endless entertainment. We biked up to Marconi Beach one day and also visited the Salt Pond area another day. The house offers convenient indoor parking for the bikes in the basement, which can be accessed at the parking level. There was also a really good supply of beach chairs and boogie boards at the house.

One note - if you intend to visit any of the fresh water ponds or bayside beaches in Eastham, you might want to get a week long pass at the Eastham DPW at the beginning of your trip. They were only open Thursday to Monday from 9 am to 3 pm. We didn't do this and so could only go to Cooks Brook Beach or First Encounter Beach (the only beaches that allow you to purchase a day pass at the beach).

We would definitely rent here again. Thank you to Bruce and Karen for a very lovely visit!

    Beautiful House, Perfect Location

We had a fantastic week in this beautiful home! The house was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to make family meals. We loved being able to walk to the beach and not having to worry about driving, full parking lots or paying to park. Even though it is so close to the beach, it felt very secluded and private and there was not a lot of traffic on the road. The house also has umbrellas and beach chairs—one less thing to pack! One recommendation is to reserve a night to have a bonfire on the beach the first morning because they fill up several days in advance. We hope to come back to this lovely home. show more show less

    Great location, beautiful house

We have been staying in rental homes at the Cape annually for many years. We have searched for "the perfect house" to come back to each year and WE FOUND IT!! The proximity to the beautiful Nauset Light Beach is this clean, bright home with ample parking for our family. It's cozy and warm, comfortable patio and with great owners to work with. My grandchildren loved the bunk beds, roamed around outside and easy walk to our favorite beach. We were very happy with this house and can't wait to return. Thank you for a great vacation! show more show less

    Wonderful Beach House

The North Studio was more than a comfortable beach house to gather with family, it was a delightful experience. The ease of walking to the Nauset Light Beach anytime day or night added so much to our vacation. Sitting in the second floor living room looking out the windows felt like we were in a tree house, especially at night. The house has everything we needed, the kitchen and dining space are well equipped and spacious. The living room is perfect for families to gather, do puzzles, watch movies and relax. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very comfortable and clean. The outdoor shower is a must! show more show less

We purchased this property in 2019 after searching for many years for the ideal Cape Cod vacation home. We were very excited when we encountered this one, because we both knew that we had found it! We have family ties to the Eastham area, so that connection makes this property that much more special to us.

The previous owners, Richard and Ann, did an outstanding job with the quality, upkeep, and rental of this property, and we plan on doing very much the same.

It is a very special place for us, and we know it will be for you too. We look forward to sharing it with you!

What is special about this property?

    Location, location, location...

By day, stroll through the backyard path and by the historic Nauset Lighthouse on your short walk to Nauset Light Beach, one of Cape Cod's most beautiful ocean beaches. By night, stay at home and listen to the surf while watching the red and white beams from the lighthouse slice through the sky.

Explore the rich history of Eastham, or bike on the nearby Cape Cod Rail Trail. Swim in one of several freshwater ponds near the center of town, or play tennis on one of the new courts at Nauset Regional High School just down Cable Road.

The options are limitless. Come see for yourself why this is such a special place!

What is special about your town?

Eastham is considered by many to be the gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore. It is steeped in beauty, and has a rich history, including the 1620 first encounter of the Pilgrims with indigenous Americans, members of the Nauset tribe, at First Encounter Beach.

Eastham is home to a number of sites that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Eastham Center Historic District, located near Town Hall, is the site of the Eastham Windmill, the oldest windmill on Cape Cod. The Edward Penniman House, a retired whaling captain's home, is located nearby in the beautiful Fort Hill area. Another registered historic place, Nauset Light, is located on the grounds of the Cape Cod National Seashore, and will quite literally be your next door neighbor!
