Description

Description

A stroll to the French bakery on the Main Street for warm, fresh croissants, and coffee from our local favorite, Coffee Obsession makes a great start to the day.

Situated by the Shining Sea Bike Path, this lovely Guest House is set on lovely, landscaped grounds and tucked away behind the white former Sea Captain’s home seen in the photos. It makes a perfect base for exploring various trails and nature. It is located in Falmouth Village - a short walk from the beach, farms, a scenic lake, and family-friendly pubs and restaurants dishing up seriously good food on Main Street.

Clean and spacious, this studio Guest House with beautiful cathedral ceiling has a private entrance, central air conditioning, ceiling fan, eat-in kitchen, wireless Internet access, and premium cable television. It shares one lockable door with the main house but has its own entrance and plenty of privacy. A wonderful spot for a vacation and to relax.

Sleeps up to three (one king, one floor mattress). Washer and dryer available for guests in a *shared* garage.

Please Note: See listing ID #35307 for more details and photos of the Main Sea Captain's House or to book the Main Sea Captain's House in addition to the Guest House.

My daughter and I stayed here for the weekend and we loved how close it was to Main Street. We walked in every morning for coffee and walked to the beach every day. It's a great location! Thanks Caroline and Victoria for a nice little getaway. We also enjoyed watching the baby bunnies in your yard:)

Caroline and Victoria's Airbnb was probably the cleanest and nicest I've stayed in. It was close to local attractions and fairly quiet for being in the middle of everything (as in the middle of everything as you can get in Woods Hole). I would definitely rebook this location if future work trips coincide with availability!

This unit was surprisingly quiet given how close it is to downtown Falmouth. Easy drive or bike to wonderful beaches. Great restaurants within a mile and a great coffee shop a block away. Gym nearby. And it is right on the main road to Woods Hole so easy access to there as well. Although the kitchen has no oven, I had everything I needed in the kitchen. Very nice outside sitting area that was lovely to hang out on in the early morning and evening. I would rent this unit again.

My significant other, chihuahua, and I had a perfect getaway weekend at Victoria's and Caroline's. The cottage was fabulous, and just a 5 minute walk to town with lots of great restaurants and shopping. The bike trail runs right behind the property. Looking forward to returning!

    Quite Comfortable Cottage

Cottage is quite roomie, and easily fit an adult and 3 children. It's a beautiful property with plenty of outdoor space and had access to a grill and lawn games. Hosts were absolutely helpful with any questions I had about local restaurants, beaches, ferry, and trails nearby.

I was born in Denmark but spent much of my life traveling, living, and working in many countries, on most of the continents. My family has run hotels for several generations. I can appreciate how important it is to have a comfy, cozy place to come home to after a long day out and about on Cape Cod.
After years of crafting experiences for others, I decided to create a place of my own where guests can unwind, explore, and make lasting memories. Falmouth, with its sandy shores, has been the backdrop to many a summer dream. Our home here stands as a testament to the area's rich history and vibrant community spirit. It's a place where old-world charm meets modern comfort, where sunrise promises a day of wonder.

What is special about this property?
The home is a unique former Whaling Captain's residence built in the 1860s by Captain Thomas Lawrence. Captain Lawrence, a figure of resilience and adventure, was not only a prominent member of the local community but also the captain of three notable ships: the Addison, the Anaconda, and the Alto. He and his four brothers, all deeply ingrained in the whaling industry, contributed to the rich maritime history that defines Cape Cod and the Islands.

The estate's exterior, with its sunny front porch, whispers 18th Century charm and elegance, while the inside is all polished with crisp, tasteful Scandinavian design aesthetic. A former Inn, the house has six furnished bedrooms - each with en-suite bathroom and TV: two bedrooms on the first floor and four bedrooms upstairs. Very spacious, perfect for family gatherings or a large group of friends. The location is wonderful, as you can walk to the village, to Highfield Hall and all the trails behind it, as well as the Shining Sea bike path and countless other walks to trails around ponds and through estuaries.

What is special about your town?
Falmouth is a beautiful coastal town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It's known for its beaches, many of them across from the island of Martha's Vineyard. From the house, you can stroll to the quintessential Village of Falmouth with its shops, restaurants, cafes and bakeries; enjoy the fresh sea air on the beach; take a walk, run or a ride on one of the scenic bike paths, just a stone's throw away from your doorstep. Down the street 3 miles is the beautiful, small Woods Hole village, with ferries to the Vineyard and a small Science Aquarium - home to lots of marine life.
So come, let our home be your gateway to the Cape Cod experience—a place where stories come alive, laughter fills the air, and the ocean's melody lulls you to sleep. Here, in our Falmouth haven, let the magic of the Cape embrace you.
