I was born in Denmark but spent much of my life traveling, living, and working in many countries, on most of the continents. My family has run hotels for several generations. I can appreciate how important it is to have a comfy, cozy place to come home to after a long day out and about on Cape Cod.
After years of crafting experiences for others, I decided to create a place of my own where guests can unwind, explore, and make lasting memories. Falmouth, with its sandy shores, has been the backdrop to many a summer dream. Our home here stands as a testament to the area's rich history and vibrant community spirit. It's a place where old-world charm meets modern comfort, where sunrise promises a day of wonder.
What is special about this property?
The home is a unique former Whaling Captain's residence built in the 1860s by Captain Thomas Lawrence. Captain Lawrence, a figure of resilience and adventure, was not only a prominent member of the local community but also the captain of three notable ships: the Addison, the Anaconda, and the Alto. He and his four brothers, all deeply ingrained in the whaling industry, contributed to the rich maritime history that defines Cape Cod and the Islands.
The estate's exterior, with its sunny front porch, whispers 18th Century charm and elegance, while the inside is all polished with crisp, tasteful Scandinavian design aesthetic. A former Inn, the house has six furnished bedrooms - each with en-suite bathroom and TV: two bedrooms on the first floor and four bedrooms upstairs. Very spacious, perfect for family gatherings or a large group of friends. The location is wonderful, as you can walk to the village, to Highfield Hall and all the trails behind it, as well as the Shining Sea bike path and countless other walks to trails around ponds and through estuaries.
What is special about your town?
Falmouth is a beautiful coastal town on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It's known for its beaches, many of them across from the island of Martha's Vineyard. From the house, you can stroll to the quintessential Village of Falmouth with its shops, restaurants, cafes and bakeries; enjoy the fresh sea air on the beach; take a walk, run or a ride on one of the scenic bike paths, just a stone's throw away from your doorstep. Down the street 3 miles is the beautiful, small Woods Hole village, with ferries to the Vineyard and a small Science Aquarium - home to lots of marine life.
So come, let our home be your gateway to the Cape Cod experience—a place where stories come alive, laughter fills the air, and the ocean's melody lulls you to sleep. Here, in our Falmouth haven, let the magic of the Cape embrace you.
